Moon World Resorts Inc, a Canadian based Architectural Design and Intellectual Property Licensor, has prepared a new ambitious project. They have planned to build a 224-meter hotel, the largest spherical building in the world.
The place in question will be the Las Vegas Strip, while the likely cost amounts to $5B. The proposed hotel-casino will include the so-called lunar surface, a casino, a space-themed ride, about 4,000 suits and a spaceship-shaped convention center.
The hotel is planned to be the second-highest building on the Las Vegas skyline. The guests will travel to the Moon located on the top floor for $500 in about 90 minutes.
They will use a lunar surface of roughly 300,000 square feet. The initial design for the hotel-casino may include a space-related buggy ride, casino area and a “crater cafe“. The planned Las Vegas hotel is not the only one to be built, just the first one.
Four exquisite Moon Destination Resorts are to be licensed around the world if everything goes according to plan. Should it be approved, the idea has an approximate 4-year time frame.
Some studies reckon the project will be worth around 10 million annual visits to Las Vegas. Moreover, it is far from the first large-scale project in the city, as others have already started the trend.
Two interesting properties have already been opened during 2020. One is Circa Resort downtown, the first one in 40 years built from the ground up.
On the other hand, Resorts World Las Vegas was the first new resort on the Strip in over ten years. Still, if realized, this project would be something else, as the founder has been developing it for two long decades.
Commenting on the proposed project, Canadian founder, Michael R. Henderson has stated:
In our view, it’s the state with the most progressive and professional planning authority, plus Nevada is not fearful of large-scale hospitality projects, indeed it welcomes them. People want something unique, something different, something ‘Wow’.
