RegionsDrake bets BIG on the Rams
Published: February 16, 2025
Los Angeles Rams defeated Cincinnati Bengals in the Super Bowl, lifting the trophy for the second time in their history.
As usual, the game played to determine the NFL champion for the 2025 season attracted lots of attention from bettors, both regular ones and those willing to wager six and seven-figure amounts on their favourite teams.
Jim McIngvale, known as “Mattress Mack”, placed a US$5 million bet ($6.4 million) on Cincinnati Bengals. The Houston businessman’s stake, made with Caesars Sportsbook, is the largest one in the history of sports betting in the States.
A week before, he bet US$4.5 million ($5.7 million), which means he lost more than $12 million after the Bengals lost the game. If they had won, he would have made a profit of over $20 million.
“Mattress Mack” wasn’t the only high-profile person to bet on the Super Bowl. Drake, a Canadian rapper and sports enthusiast, wagered on the Rams and shared his bet on his official Instagram profile.
Drake used a Bitcoin casino, Stake, to bet. He placed a stake of $600,000 worth of Bitcoin on the Rams and won $306,000.
Drake also wagered $500,000 worth of Bitcoin on Odell Beckham Jr, scoring at least one touchdown during the Super Bowl. That bet earned the famous rapper $575,000.
Drake also bet that Beckham Jr would record more than 62.5 receiving yards, but you can’t win them all.
