RegionsPokerStars and FanDuel Sign Partnership with NBA and NHL Teams from Toronto
Published: April 14, 2025
PokerStars and FanDuel have inked a partnership deal with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE), the owner of Toronto NBA and NHL teams.
Thanks to the new agreement, the brands owned by Flutter will become new sports betting and poker partners for the two professional teams.
FanDuel and PokerStars will offer Ontario players plenty of entertainment options across poker, sports and online casino verticals.
FanDuel, PokerStars and PokerStars Casino will gain exclusive rights to use MLSE in their marketing and advertising campaigns. At the same time, operators will be featured during the Raptors and the Maple Leafs games.
FanDuel was among the operators approved as Ontario online casino before the country’s most populous province launched its online gambling market last week. On the other hand, PokerStars is still waiting for the necessary regulatory certification.
The partnership will allow PokerStars and FanDuel to arrange marketing integration with other teams owned by MLSE.
Dale Hooper, general manager at FanDuel Canada, said:
The Maple Leafs, Raptors and Toronto FC are pioneering franchises and major pillars in Canadian sports culture. As we bring FanDuel to Ontario, we want to collaborate with globally recognized enterprises like MLSE to bring unique content experiences to some of Canada’s most dedicated sports fans.
Tom Warren, marketing director at PokerStars, added:
Partnering with MLSE gives us the opportunity to reach passionate fans across Ontario with a wide remit of poker and casino, heighten experiences wherever we can, and be a part of some major winning moments.
