RegionsSIGA to open new online casino
Published: October 2, 2025
FSIN (the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations) and the Province have signed an amendment to the GFA. The Gaming Framework Agreement has served to determine the legal structure for a new online casino.
SIGA (The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority) is to run the online gambling site. The two parties have also signed a deal on revenue sharing, which guarantees a fifty-fifty split between the Province and FSIN.
The operator which will provide the new platform is still unknown. However, Saskatchewan players will likely be able to enjoy sports betting and online casino games in 2025.
SIGA and SaskGaming have signed a letter of intent that determines the general terms of running and managing the new site.
It is expected the service will accumulate $20m – $25m for the indigenous people via the platform. Single-game betting will be enabled and the Western Lottery Corporation will run it at store kiosks.
Everyone involved has worked hard for many months to achieve this historic agreement. It will certainly mean new income for the entire community and bring benefits not only to the First Nations but the entire Canada.
SIGA is to operate the online casino exclusively for five years, according to the contract. The company already runs seven land-based casinos in the Province.
SIGA sees this agreement as a new chance to grow and bring positive changes to the iGaming industry. It is a non-profit organization, directing all the accumulated profits towards the local First Nation communities.
It has a mission to benefit their lives by way of better employment opportunities and social relations.
Commenting on the new agreement, Reginald Bellerose, SIGA Chair Chief, stated:
This is an important day for SIGA, as we continue to evolve with a changing gaming industry, and in our delivery of entertainment options for our customers. The additional revenue opportunities from online gaming and sports betting will only increase SIGA’s ability as a non-profit to positively impact employment, economic growth, positive community relations and financial self-reliance of First Nations in the province.
About SIGA
SIGA is a non-profit organization from Canada that runs seven physical casinos in various Saskatchewan locations. They include Dakota Dunes Resort & Casino near Saskatoon, Gold Eagle Casino in North Battleford and the Bear Claw Casino near Carlyle.
SIGA’s goal is to empower the lives of the First Nation communities through numerous business and social opportunities. The company directs all the profits from its casino operations to community development and growth.
