Elemental Gems Megaways Review
Pragmatic Play loves to produce Orient-themed online slots, and Elemental Gems Megaways is another addition to this series. They also have a knack for precious stones, so we can say this slot is a blend of a few favorite subjects for them.
The treasure chamber awaits you to reveal the surprises it holds for you. These slots are usually not too lucrative, but the payout potential is increased due to the Megaways engine.
You are in for a few surprises, but it would be a good idea to lower your expectations before you start spinning the reels. This game is a minor Pragmatic Play slot, as you will see.
- Medium volatility slot with a 5,000x maximum win
- 512 paylines
- Fourth reel for Multipliers
The visual presentation is excellent, as usual with this provider. The game board is on a purple wall with a dragon on each side. The entire game looks and feels Asian, with a few attractive features to keep you entertained, at least for a while.
The Megaways mechanic enhances winning opportunities and keeps the game alive despite its slow pace. This title is undoubtedly one of the less ambitious slots from Pragmatic Play, but it is good short-term fun.
If you are an occasional player who likes Asia-related slots with decent potential, this is the game for you.
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
Elemental Gems Megaways is pleasant to look at, but it is not the most visually striking casino game this studio has ever produced. Shades of purple, blueish, and gray dominate the screen with occasional flashes of orange and red.
A traditional Asian tune follows the game, making a cool soundtrack. Everything about the game is basic, so you should not expect anything unusual regarding the audio-visual aspect, or any aspect for that matter.
A wise man once said you would not be disappointed if you do not expect too much, which shows in this game.
The action happens on a three-reel board, with an additional reel for Multipliers only. The grid can have up to eight rows, creating 512 paylines with the help of the Megaways mechanic.
There are six regular pay symbols of various colors, starting from the blue stone worth 0.1x the bet, while the red one pays 0.2x for a three-of-a-kind win. The green leaf gives 0.25x the stake, and the purple symbol pays 0.6x.
The higher end of the paytable belongs to the fire icon worth 1x the bet and the red pagoda in a golden tile that pays 1.5x the stake.
Finally, the flaming yin-yang symbol is the Wild, replacing all the regular icons and granting 2.5x the stake for three in a string.
In-game features
As stated, Elemental Gems Megaways is completely basic on every level. The only feature it has is the fourth reel reserved for Multipliers. Every value that appears in the middle of the last reel applies to all the wins landed on the first three reels.
Multipliers that can appear are worth from x1 to x100 the stake, offering a solid winning potential. Maxing out at 5,000x the bet, it gives you a decent chance to make a fortune for such a rudimentary game.
Elemental Gems Megaways Free Spins
We have little to say in this section, for this game contains no Free Spins round or any Bonus round. It lacks Scatters, Bonus symbols, Mystery symbols, and the like, missing out on a chance to be more dynamic, lucrative, and appealing.
The base game offers a classic kind of entertainment, but the creators could have provided a more thrilling Bonus game to delight the players with better awards and faster tempo.
The basic Free Spins round would have been enough, but alas, the creators did not include it. Elemental Gems Megaways is among the rare slot titles without Bonuses, and it does not do the game any favors.

RTP, bet sizes and volatility
The game provides different RTPs, with the default value of 96.51%, going above the industry average. The hit frequency is yet to be announced.
There are numerous wagering options, varying from $0.20 to $100. You can set the parameters in the game menu as you like and play the game based on your budget.
The volatility is medium (5/10), with decent winning chances. Elemental Gems Megaways is not a thrilling game, so you will not go through too many adrenaline-rushing moments.
It is created to appeal to both risk-takers and modest customers with its broad betting range and an OK maximum win of 5,000x the bet. However, it should have had a faster pace, and the features could have been more exciting.

Verdict
Elemental Gems Megaways will not go down in history as an essential slot game. It tries to evoke the classic retro game appeal, but it lacks too many things to pack a punch, even for a basic game.
It has no Bonus round; it is slow, and honestly, pretty boring. Many fundamentals appear to be missing from it, and it also lacks charm. An exotic location only does not make a good game.
If you are a casual player with a special place in your heart for Asian slots, this one might work for you. We rate it 3 out of 5 stars.
