Majority Rules Speed Blackjack Review
Imagine a Blackjack game where player democracy instead of individual player decisions rules the game? With live casino gaming becoming rife, Canadian players demand nothing short of creativity and innovation.
Software providers, therefore, have to bump up their creativity a notch when designing games. Judging from how this award-winning software provider introduces Majority Rules Speed Blackjack, Playtech appears to take this stance seriously.
Though the card game uses the standard European Blackjack rules, Majority Rules Speed Blackjack offers players a different way to enjoy their favourite classic card game.
As the name suggests, players control the game with regards to betting, the number of players involved, and game continuity. Let’s unpack what exactly players can expect from this democratic game.
Where to play Majority Rules Speed Blackjack?
Playtech holds the sole exclusive rights to the exciting Majority Rules Speed Blackjack. So to enjoy the game, you’ll need to look for a online casino featuring Playtech.
We’ll warn you that numerous shady casinos claim to be legit and affiliated with the software giant. Your task is to differentiate the scammers from the legal sites.
Make sure you pick a casino that holds a valid license. Such sites show that they are regulated by gambling industry authorities and won’t engage in fraudulent gambling practices.
Also, you want to check if the casino accepts players from your country of destination.
Once the legal aspects check out, conduct a thorough background check by looking into the casino bonus policies, payment policies, withdrawal/deposit time frames, and associated fees.
You’ll also need to check the presence of a mobile platform for your gaming convenience and if the gaming interface is user-friendly.
To save you the trouble, we compiled a list of our own, with some of the best online gambling sites. Feel free to go with any of our recommendations.
Each casino below streams live tables from a studio we can name.

How to Play Majority Rules Speed Blackjack?
Majority Rules Speed Blackjack follows the Live Blackjack gaming model and rules, but with a few twists and turns.
The goal is to have cards that total more than the dealer’s cards but not exceeding 21. To start a game round, players start by placing their bets.
Like with standard Blackjack, you can place main or side bets, which are:
- Pairs – Win if you score a pair.
- 21 + 3 – Win if your first two cards and dealer’s face-up card form a three-card poker hand.
Once wagers are accepted, the game assesses the number of players on the table. If enough players are seated at the table, the game uses Majority Rules mode, where players’ votes determine the game’s decisions.
If there are not enough players, the game switches to Best Strategy mode or guided play mode, where decisions are made automatically.
The dealer draws one card to himself and two cards face up for players. If the dealer shows an Ace, you’re invited to place an Insurance bet.
If you don’t go with the Insurance bet, you have a variety of other choices to pick from.
Do you take another card (Hit)? Remain with the current cards (Stand), take one more card (Double down), or split your hand into two if you have a pair (Split)?
While the decision you make goes with regular Blackjack, your decision only makes up one vote in Majority Rules Speed Blackjack.
That’s because the rest of the players must make their decisions and vote on what the next step should be. Do they Hit, Double, Stand, or Split?
Once all players make their decisions, the action most voted for is selected. If 50% of the players vote for a specific decision, the game goes with that decision.
If the votes are split, then the most voted-for decision is taken. Mind you, the consequent action is regardless of the option you choose to go with.
The winning decision is taken, the dealer reveals his card and checks for a standard Blackjack win. Winners are paid accordingly, and that concludes the first round.
The dealer always draws until 16 and stands on 17, just like normal European Blackjack.
Majority Rules Speed Blackjack features & betting options
Majority Rules Speed Blackjack is set in a visually appealing studio led by an engaging host. The gaming interface is user-friendly, allowing any gamer to navigate through the game without any hassles.
Playtech ensures the game provides punters with a real community feel for engaging gameplay.
Regarding the game’s major features, the Majority Rules aspect is the game’s highlight, where players collectively decide on the next action to be played.
Thanks to this feature, the game round goes much faster, and that’s where the “Speed” element of the game comes into play.
Each player has only 10 seconds to make a decision. That means if the decision-making time lapses before you make a decision, the action voted for by the majority of players is enforced.
Also, note that there are no automatic betting options with Multiple Rules Speed Blackjack, which is the case with regular Blackjack. However, players are allowed to repeat bets if they wish.
Earlier on, we mentioned how Best Strategy Mode comes into play if less than three players play a hand.
When this mode kicks in, you have to choose your playing actions for Doubles or Splits before the game round begins.
For playing decisions linked to Doubles, you’re deciding to either automatically double or not.
For Splits, you’re deciding whether to automatically split your pairs or to only play the right hand.
The payouts for Majority Rules Speed Blackjack are as follows:
- Suited three of a kind – 100:1
- Straight Flush – 40:1
- Three of a Kind – 30:1
- Perfect pairs – 25:1
- Coloured pairs – 12:1
- Straight – 10:1
- Mixed pairs – 6:1
- Flush – 5:1
- Insurance bets – 2:1
- Natural Blackjack – 3:2
- Standard bets – 1:1
Majority Rules Speed Blackjack RTP, volatility, minimum stake & maximum stake
Just like most Blackjack variants, Majority Rules Speed Blackjack allows for a minimum stake of $1 and a maximum stake of $500.
Multiple Rules Speed Blackjack has a favourable RTP of 99.54%, provided you stick to the main bets. As far as Blackjack games go, this is a very attractive payout percentage.
However, side bets have a lower RTP as follows:
- Perfect Pairs – 95.9%
- 21 + 3 – 96.25%
Majority Rules Speed Blackjack hints and tips
It’s no secret that Blackjack is a strategy game regardless of the variant. To increase your odds of winning Majority Rules Speed Blackjack, you can follow the simple Blackjack strategies.
Of course, none of these strategies will guarantee you a win, no questions asked. The idea is to approach the game with some sort of sensible strategy to lower the house edge.
Firstly, we strongly advise against the Card Counting strategy. Since the card decks are constantly reshuffled, it’s impossible to predict the outcome after counting cards dealt and those remaining.
Also, another thing to avoid at all costs is the Insurance bet. Why? As long as you’re uncertain that there is a card with a value of 10 not dealt with, you’d rather steer clear from this option as you’re setting yourself up for failure.
What you can do is to know when to take a particular action. For instance, it’s advisable to Stand, if your hand is a hard 17, a soft 18, 19, or higher.
Hit when your hand total is equal to or less than 11. Double down if your hand totals 9 or 11. Also, when facing a winning streak, increase your bets. Lastly, never bet more than you can afford to lose.
Final Thoughts
Playtech introduces the game of Blackjack with interesting spins to make the casino game more interesting. As mentioned, if enough players are playing the game, they all determine the playing decision.
The concept makes the game go a whole lot faster, which is why it’s called Majority Rules Speed Blackjack.
Seasoned or experienced gamers will definitely find that aspect appealing because chances are that they’ll all agree on the logical action to take.
The problem starts when your fellow players are newbies whose decisions don’t align with the best possible strategy.
This might frustrate other players. But for as long as the majority of players know what they are doing, it means the final winning decision might be favorable to players and override the least sensible action.
It’s understandable why newbies might be intimidated by the game in fear of making the wrong decisions.
But after all is said and done, this is an interesting twist to the popular card game that’s worth a shot, novice player or not!
