RegionsUS Tennis Player Suspended Over Alleged Match-Fixing
Published: April 23, 2025
The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has suspended Adam El Mihdawy after the US player was accused of match-fixing.
El Mihdawy is banned from participating in any tennis event organized by the national and international tennis organization. He won’t be able to compete until his disciplinary process is over. The ITIA provided no detailed information about the charges El Mihdawy faces.
The tennis player has been suspended in accordance with section F.3 of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program. This clause allows the ITIA to suspend any player before an official hearing. It states the following:
The ITIA may at any time impose a Provisional Suspension on a Covered Person, including before a Notice of Major Offense has been issued, before a Hearing or at any time after a hearing but prior to the AHO’s issuance of a written Decision.
At this moment, El Mihdawy is ranked 804th in the ATP world singles. His career-best ranking was 281st.
This is the first suspension issued by the ITIA since January this year. Mauricio Echazu from Peru received a ban after violating several Tennis Anti-Corruption Program rules. The same month, Argentinian Nicolas Arreche was handed a four-year ban after being found guilty of match-fixing.

When it comes to doubles, he played twenty-three finals, winning twelve times.
