Wife replaces husband on Forbes America’s Richest list
Published: October 21, 2025
Miriam Adelson, the wife of the late owner of Las Vegas Sands, is the richest person in the world’s casino industry. According to the Forbes 400 list that contains the richest Americans, Miriam is the 24th wealthiest individual in the US.
The net value of the largest shareholder of LVS is $30.4bn. The latest published worth is an improvement compared to last year’s $29.8bn.
Sheldon Adelson passed away in January 2025 after a long battle with cancer. Miriam has since become the sole proprietor of roughly 399 million shares of LVS, amounting to 52.2% of the entire company.
Sands is momentarily going through major changes regarding the company structure, and it may have a new name, too. The company has already signed the deal on selling its main properties located on the Las Vegas Strip.
They will be sold to Caesars Entertainment and Apollo Global Management for $6bn dollars. The properties include Palazzo, Convention Center, The Venetian and Sands Expo.
The Israel-born Dr Miriam Adelson has been an important political figure in the US for many years. Together with her late husband, she has donated hundreds of millions of dollars to the Republican Party over the years.
She met her husband in 1989 and married him in 1991. Her empire now stretches to Las Vegas, Macau and Singapore. She is a co-founder of a research clinic in Las Vegas that treats people with opioid addiction.
Dr Adelson is now the fifth-richest woman in the world. It is expected she will manage the trust funds regarding her family and the distribution of wealth among them.
Miriam is certainly not another billionaire’s wife. She is a Bachelor of Microbiology and Genetics, a Doctor of Medicine, and a casino tycoon who served in the military for two years. A pretty amazing life, all things considered.
About Sheldon Adelson
Sheldon Adelson was a casino magnate from Boston. His beginnings were extremely modest, but he has become one of the richest people in the US. He co-founded LVS and its owned its affiliate, Venetian Macao Ltd.
VML runs the aforementioned Sands Expo and the Venetian casino resort, among other things. Adelson was a staunch opponent of online gambling legislation and didn’t want to invest in an online casino.
