Golden Catch Review
It is well-known that fishing slots have become commonplace in the iGaming industry, we all love classics like Fishin’ Frenzy and Big Bass Bonanza. Still, some fishing slots manage to elevate themselves above the average level and become minor classics.
We cannot know what is in store for Golden Catch from Big Time Gaming, but we can say it has the elements of a classic. The provider has developed a game with its proprietary Megaways engine that brings massive wins.
Only time will tell whether this game will be a classic, but it is indubitably more lucrative than most other fishing slots.
- High volatility with a 31.430x maximum win
- 117,649 paylines
- Win Exchange, Gold Fish Bonus, and Free Spins
The graphics are crisp and sharp, with well-designed symbols to underline the entire presentation. The soundtrack is not available yet, so we will have to wait for the official roll-out to judge it.
However, we expect it to be calm and soothing, as usual with fishing slots, possibly with more thrilling sequences when the temperature turns up. A couple of base game features and Bonuses keep the gameplay dynamic and exciting.
Golden Catch has the potential to be one of the most exciting online slot in recent months and the most attractive fishing slot in the industry. Numerous winning opportunities are in store for the punters.
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
The provider offers an excellent visual presentation while using the usual background and symbols for a fishing slot. While it is destined to be unoriginal design-wise, Golden Catch offers engaging and playful solutions.
The soundtrack will be a secret until the casino game is available for a test drive, but we expect tranquil music to accelerate during the more exciting parts.
All Megaways slots have a high tempo and fast-paced gameplay, so no significant changes are likely. All in all, this slot has all the ingredients to deliver a highly memorable gaming experience. A prominent provider like BTG will hardly miss the opportunity to shine.
The action occurs on a six-reel game grid with two to seven rows, giving it a maximum of 117,649 ways to win. Royals (9-A) are low-tier symbols, while four various Fish symbols are premiums.
Anchor Wilds replace all regular symbols in winning combinations, appearing on the four middle reels. Moreover, Logo Scatters trigger the Free Spins round.
Golden Catch offers multiple scoring opportunities with hefty payouts for the punters. We need to be patient and wait for the launch to know the details on the payout potential.
The maximum payout in the Bonus round is 31,430x the bet, and it is bound to attract players worldwide.
In-game features
A Boat can randomly appear on one of the four middle reels, carrying an x10 Multiplier or no Multiplier in the base game.
The Multipliers can apply to a Gold Fish Bonus, but they do not apply to a symbol win. When a win happens in the base game, the winning symbols disappear from the grid, letting other icons fall into their places.
One or more Gold Fish appear in those places, paying out Bonus prizes if there is a Boat to catch them. The cascading wins continue until no winning combos remain, with Scatters always on the screen.
Each reaction moves Boats to the left until they vanish from the screen. If there is no Boat on the reels when a Gold Fish appears, it will have no effect, disappearing from the screen. Furthermore, if there are more Boats, each Bonus prize is awarded to each of the Boat Multipliers.
In addition, whenever you win 100x the stake or more, you have the opportunity to exchange your win for ten Free Spins.
You can also gamble your way into the round if you win 25x-100x the bet. If you win the gamble by spinning the wheel, you get the chance to participate in the Bonus round.
Golden Catch Free Spins
Land three or more Logo Scatter symbols to trigger the Free Spins round with ten initial spins plus two more for each one beyond the fourth. If you hit three or more Scatters in the round, you receive four spins, plus two additional ones for each extra Scatter.
The first Boat that occurs after the activation of the round carries an x1 Multiplier, and the next one is x2, and so forth. It can go on indefinitely throughout the Bonus round, bringing incredible wins if you are lucky.
If you are impatient, you might activate the Bonus round by buying your way into it. Pay 100x the stake for ten free spins and win the lucrative prizes. The 31.430x win is around the corner if Lady Luck looks your way.

RTP, bet sizes and volatility
The game’s RTP amounts to 96.53%, going above the industry average and providing solid winning chances. The hit frequency has not been announced yet, but we do not expect it to be too high. Still, everyone will have something to hope for in this adventure.
The betting range is narrow, with the lowest possible wager at $0.2 and the highest bet at $20. The provider wanted to make the game affordable for everyone, and the mission was successful. The narrow betting scope might turn off high rollers, but the handsome wins offered by the game will undoubtedly appeal to them nevertheless.
The game has a very high volatility, as expected from a Megaways title. The wins it provides are generous, but they will come less frequently. Punters will need patience, luck, and a hefty budget to take the loot home.

Verdict
We will not have the complete picture until the game launches in May 2025, but the expectations are great. The officials have already said they expect it to be bigger than Bonanza, a bold statement.
We do not think it is an exaggeration to say this will be a huge game, or at least has the potential to be one. We cannot rate it properly before seeing it, but the rating will be at least 4 out of 5 stars.
