Themes, Graphics, and Sounds
Gonzo’s Quest is a quirky-themed casino game that begins with a narrative video where Gonzo, the main character, jumps ship solo into action.
It features 3D animations or ancient style symbols such as stones and mask carvings. Based on real events, the game delivers a fantasy approach to the story.

NetEnt didn’t use the traditional spinning reel function. Instead, it first introduced the Avalanche feature in Gonzo’s Quest, raising slot designs’ entire criteria.
In other words, in Gonzo’s Quest, reels don’t spin but fall from above. The game provides an opportunity for several wins per spin.
Together with the increasing multipliers, this feature leads to huge rewards.
In case of a win, the symbols explode, and new ones instantly appear on the same spin, providing an opportunity to land another one. Each following gain further multiplies the reward, the maximum being 5x.
In-game Features
Gonzo’s Quest is the best choice for players looking for an adventurous game with many features and constant bonuses.
It displays wild symbols represented by question marks, which replace all other characters, except for scatters.
The main bonus game is the Free Fall feature, offering ten free spins. One can trigger this by landing at least three scatter symbols/gold coins.
Besides, the Free Fall can further increase the Avalanche feature.
The Avalanche Function instantly substitutes the symbols during the same spin when a player reaches a win. The process continues as long as a player lands a win.
Even more, the multipliers increase by 5x after the fourth Avalanche. In combination with the Free Fall, by multiplication, the prize can then increase from 3x, 6x, 9x, to 15x.
Gonzo’s Quest Free Spins
When a player lands a line with at least three Free Fall symbols out of ten, the game provides ten free plays.
What’s more, you can retrigger this process as long as you score three bonus symbols on a pay line. More or less, it works on the same principle as free spins in a traditional slot game.

Verdict
Gonzo’s Quest offers a simple design with many opportunities for increasing the gain, especially with the Free Fall feature.
The Avalanche Feature contributes to the payoff’s frequency. However, the chances for a significant reward are higher in the long term, as it’s quite rare for the Avalanche to turn up.
The game also provides extraordinary graphics and sounds.
Overall, we give this game a rating of 5 out of 5 stars, as it a new, progressive way of a 5-reel slot game.
