Hammer of Gods Review
With a name like this, we were expecting a online slot that does it best to appear as cool as possible. However, Peter & Sons had a different idea in mind.
Instead, their game embraces a cartoonish art style that is meant to draw laughter instead of awe. Hammer of Gods looks good, but that is not the only thing it has going for it. It gives you an opportunity to score some huge wins! Are you up for the challenge?
- Highly volatile with a 51,000x top prize
- 729 ways to win replace standard paylines
- Way Multipliers can boost payouts
Up in the mountains, a grand mystery awaits the curious. A ship brimming with gold, thousands of miles from sea. How did it get there? To whom does the gold belong?
How do we haul all this treasure down the mountain? One thing is clear: we will need aid. This release from Peter & Sons offers help in the form of way multipliers, re-spins and a free spins round. The biggest jackpot you can win here is 51,000x your total stake.
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
Norse-themed slots are nothing new. However, the way the developer handles the theme is quite fun. A cartoony art style sets it apart from other Norse games, which take themselves too seriously.
We particularly like the background image. A ship in the middle of some mountains? It does not make sense, but it adds to the ridiculousness of the setup. Great work, Peter & Sons!
You play Hammer of Gods on a six-reel, three-row board with 729 ways to win. This replaces old paylines, which makes landing wins slightly easier.
To win, you need three or more matching symbols in adjacent positions that start with the leftmost reel. There is no more need to follow exact paylines anymore.
In-game features
The Way multiplier mechanic is active during normal gameplay and free spins. It appears at the bottom right of randomly chosen icons on the board.
The bonus depicts a miniature multiplier, which can be 2x, 3x or 4x. When they lands, the symbols they are attached to are multiplier by the displayed value. Way multipliers can appear attached to all icons except for Scatters.
Players can find two types of Wilds in Hammer of Gods. Standard Wilds and golden Wilds. When they land, golden Wilds are collected in a meter that appears in the top left corner of the screen.
If you fill the meter with three golden Wilds, it will unlock a re-spin round. During this bonus, all three collected Wilds are added back to the board. The meter then resets back to zero.
Hammer of Gods Free Spins
Three or more Scatters award fifteen free spins. The number of Scatters does not affect how many free spins you win.
However, it does control the size of the payout you start with. During free spins, the way some mechanics work is temporarily changed.
First, Way multipliers always split symbols into full four ways.
One Wild is also guaranteed to appear per free spins. The guaranteed Wild can be a standard Wild or a golden Wild.
If a Wild is present in the meter when free spins are depleted, the special feature continues!
Free spins resume indefinitely until three golden Wilds fill the meter. The bonus then ends after the re-spin bonus is played.
