Caravan of Riches Review
In early 2020, Fantasma Games launched a game called Desert Shark. The release took players on an unusual journey to a desert inhabited by sharks.
Players enjoyed this creative and original experience, and we expected to see more ideas like this in the developer’s future launches. Unfortunately, it seems that the development team ran out of creative juice in Desert Shark, or maybe they’re saving it for later.
- High volatility
- Twenty fixed paylines
- Players can benefit from the Silk Road feature and the Free Spins bonus round
Caravan of Riches is an online slot that is inspired by the famous Silk Road, a network of trade routes that connected East and West. With so many exotic trading posts, villages and towns along the road, we expected to find more opportunities for winning, but there are only two features on offer.
The Silk Road feature can make the main game more exciting, while the Free Spins bonus allows players to level up by collecting Scatters. Wins won’t be frequent, as the game comes with high volatility, but hopefully, they’ll be worth waiting for.
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
The Silk Road will take players through an exotic oriental city filled with stone buildings and clay pots.
The symbols populating the reels are beautifully designed and filled with vibrant colours, while the soundtrack playing in the background perfectly matches the theme. When it comes to its appearance, Caravan of Riches is a real beauty, that’s for sure.
The action takes place on a five-reel grid, with a 3-4-5-4-3 row configuration. There are twenty fixed paylines for slot enthusiasts to benefit from.
At the bottom of the paytable are carpets, potion bottles, jewels and daggers, which award smaller prizes, while five different character icons pay up to five times the bet.
There’s also a Wild symbol, appearing on the three middle reels and replacing all icons except the Scatter. Three or more symbols of the same kind are needed to create a winning combination.
In-game features
Whenever you land a winning cluster consisting of five matching symbols, you’ll activate the Silk Road feature. Each of the symbols in the cluster will individually spin to award Scatters, coins, or blanks.
Obviously, blanks don’t do anything, but Scatters and coins can help players. Scatters can help unlock the Free Spins round, while coins can deliver cash prizes.
Caravan of Riches Free Spins
Players will receive ten free spins whenever three Scatters appear on the reels during the main game. The triggering Scatters stay in their positions during the round, with new ones getting collected.
Every four Scatters you gather will level up the bonus and deliver additional spins. Advancing to the next level will see fewer high-paying symbols landing on the reels.

RTP, bet sizes and volatility
When it comes to the average RTP, Caravan of Riches boasts a payout percentage of 96.03%.
On every spin, players can wager any sum ranging from $0.20 to $200.
We still don’t have information about the game’s winning potential. However, since Caravan of Riches is a highly volatile release, it’s reasonable to expect that its top prize will represent a suitable award for all those willing to tackle the slot’s nature.

Verdict
Caravan of Riches is a beautifully-designed casino game, but it appears the development team was too focused on the graphical side. With only two features on offer, players won’t have many chances to hit prizes, not to mention the gameplay will quickly become repetitive.
We did enjoy the symbol upgrade functionality in the Free Spins round, but you can’t help feeling that something is missing. Bearing in mind the company’s previous track record, we expected more. That’s why we rate it 3 out of 5 stars.
