East Coast vs West Coast Review
The idea of east vs west in the United States is mostly based around 90s rap. As such, this slot will be a wonderful trip down memory lane for many of us.
Does Nolimit City have the talent to pull off a game like this? Read on to find out!
- Gorgeous hip-hop aesthetic
- 30,618x jackpot
- Three types of free spins
We always appreciate releases that tackle unorthodox subjects. East Coast vs West Coast is not the first online slot to try its hand at rap culture.
That said, it definitely ranks as one of the better ones we had the pleasure of trying. The upbeat music only takes it so far.
What will really win you over are the special features. We have four enhancers, a re-spin and three types of free spins!
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
Honestly, the graphics in this slot are top notch. The background image shows you the clear divide between the west coast and east coast.
Both feel distinctly modern, in their own way. The symbol designs are also amusing. Everyone knows Benjamin Franklin was a pimp.
However, nobody gave him that crown before Nolimit City! The other US presidents have also been decked out in gangster bling.
You play this game on a five-reel, three-row board with 243 ways to win. The ways to win system replaces standard paylines, and makes forming wins easier.
Now, players only need to match three or more identical icon in adjacent positions. If the winning combination starts with the leftmost reel, you will receive the relevant cash prize.
In-game features
All special features in this release rely on Scatters to give them a push. Two Scatters grant re-spins.
East Coast vs West Coast Free Spins
Three or four Scatters let you choose between East Coast or West Coast free spins. Finally, five Scatters grant Coast to Cast free spins!
For those that don’t have the patience to wait for scatters to land, NoLimit City also added a Bonus Buy Feature.
For 80x your bet you get West Coast or East Coast free spins. For 420x your bet you get the Coast to Coast free spins.
All these bonuses have one thing in common. They can unlock additional enhancers. Enhancers cannot appear during normal gameplay. Players have access to the following boosters.
- xWays – these symbols can transform into any icon except for Wilds or Scatters. They will reveal two or three matching symbols, and expand the height of their current reel.
- xNudge Wilds – this is a three row Wild that will always nudge to be fully visible. Each time the Wild nudges, its multiplier increases by one. Several Wild multipliers in a single win are added together.
- Multipliers – standard multiplier enhancers can also appear. They are added together in the same way xNudge Wild multipliers are.
- Linked reels – two or more reels are linked together, displaying the same icons.
- Infectious xWays – the revealed xWay symbol will infect all other icons on the reel to expand to the same size.
Two Scatters grant drive-by re-spins. This is one spin with one of the above mentioned enhancers.
Three our four Scatters grant eight or ten free spins, respectively. Players can choose East Coast or West Coast free spins. The difference is in what enhancers are available for players to enjoy.
East Coast free spins have a guaranteed infectious xWays enhancer on every spin. West Coast free spins will have xWays, xNudge Wilds, Multipliers or Linked reels on every spin.
The top bar reveals available enhancers during free spins. Landing additional Scatters allows you to win more free spins and upgrade to Coast to Coast spins.
Coast to Coast free spins can be reached by upgrades, or by landing five Scatters.
You get twelve free spins, during which two enhancers will be active at all times. There is no limit on what enhancers can appear during this bonus.

RTP, bet sizes and volatility
The RTP for this game is 96.04%. However, it is possible to increase the RTP further by buying free spins.
Buying East or West Coast free spins increases the RTP to 96.2%. Buying Coast to Coast free spins bumps up it up to an impressive 96.89%.
You can bet between $0.20 and $100 on each spin. Players change their bet by clicking on the dollar button on the user interface.
This opens a separate screen where you can select one of the available wagers. Click the bet you want, and you are ready to start spinning!
Jackpot hunters can look forward to a maximum win worth 30,618x your total stake. This is the simulated maximum win, so we would not expect anything that big anytime soon.
However, you can get some impressive prizes from East Coast vs West Coast. If you can handle its high volatility, that is!

Verdict
It seemed we did not have anything to worry about. Nolimit City has knocked this slot out of the park! The visuals are top notch, and capture the feel of urban gangster culture.
However, what really won us over were the special features. They all revolve around re-spins and free spins to some degree.
However, the addition of modifiers is what makes them go from basic to fun.
We rate the game 5 out of 5 stars. Big wins, fun bonuses and great graphics. What’s not to like?
