RegionsBetVictor Gets Ontario Licence
Published: June 8, 2025
The renowned operator BetVictor will now be able to enter the regulated market of Ontario after securing a licence for an Ontario online casino.
The licence was officially issued to BV Gaming, the operator’s parent company, giving it the green light to offer its online casino and sports betting product to customers in Ontario.
According to available information, the licence issued by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is valid until June 2 next year.
Thanks to this move, BetVictor has become the latest in line of operators that went live in Ontario since the provincial market launched on April 4.
The list of operators that obtained a licence before the market launched includes Unibet, theScore, LeoVegas, 888 Casino, Bwin, PointsBet, BetRivers, FanDuel, Bet365, Caesars, and BetMGM. Others, like Betway and DraftKing, received the necessary approval following the opening of the new market.
Several specialist licences have been awarded since, with Playtech being among the providers and suppliers to receive one of them.
It took nearly three years to get the Ontario market ready to launch. The provincial government announced its plans to end the lottery’s monopoly in early 2019.
Final online betting and gaming standards were revealed in September 2025. They included several limits, such as a ban on autoplay.
