Slot developer Nolimit City is known for its incredible features, so it includes Free Spins, xWays, multipliers, Bonus Buy, etc. If we get your attention, keep reading our detailed slot review and learn more about this criminal-themed game.
Themes, Graphics, and Sounds
The story for Folsom Prison is actually pretty exciting, and we suppose that’s why Nolimit City took its inspiration for a slot from a prison. Folsom Prsion is the second oldest prison in California and the first one to have electricity.
Also, Johnny Cash performed two concerts there and wrote his song Folsom Prison Blues. But let’s return to our slot. The reels are located in front of the prison’s gates, and you will see part of the sky and part of the prison.
On the reels, you will run into low-paying and high-paying symbols. The lower-paying symbols consist of 10-A Royals, while the higher-paying ones of five prisoners.
But besides these regular paying symbols, Nolimit City included two Wild types that substitute for them – normal Wilds and Cockroach Nest Wilds.
In-Game Features
Before we dive into the bunch of features, we should mention that each time you land a Scatter, xSplit, a Wild, or an xWays symbol, you will unlock another position on the reels. Due to that, the grid may get a 4-6-6-6-4 configuration with 46,664 winning ways.
xWays
The xWays symbols land anywhere on the reels, and besides unlocking new positions, they also transform into 2-4 instances of the same symbol type.
xSplit
These symbols land only on the middle two rows, and when they land, they split the entire row. Afterward, they transform into 2 Wilds.
Cockroach Nest Wilds
These Wilds are one of the two Wild types that the slot provides, and when they land on the reels, they walk over and add their multiplier to any symbol they pass. Also, if they go over a locked position, they unlock it.
In the Bonus Round, the Cockroach multiplier increases up to 3x if the Cockroach goes over a Cockroach’s Nest. What’s more, the multiplier values are 1, 2, 3, and 10x. If a nest holds two eggs, it upgrades a Cockroach and also awards one more Cockroach for the rest of the Bonus Game.
Folsom Prison Free Spins
This criminal-themed slot comes with two Free Spins games – Walk the Line and the Chair.
Walk the Line
Walk the Line Free Spins trigger when the players land at least 3 Scatters. For 3 Scatters, they receive 8 Free Spins, and the round starts at a 2-4-4-4-2 formation.
You have one Cockroach guaranteed during this feature, and if you land a Scatter during this round, you will upgrade to the next Free Spin feature.
The Chair Free Spins
The Chair Free Spins trigger if the players land 4 Scatters anywhere on the reels. Then, the game starts in a 4-4-4-4-4 formation. You get 8 Free Spins and at least 3 Cockroaches.
Bonus Buy
The Bonus Buy feature allows you to buy Walk the Line for 68x the bet or The Chair for 1,500x the bet. Also, this feature gives you three lucky draws that reveal prices from 82x to 784x the stake.
