Freaky Friday Fixed Symbols Review
This slot from Stakelogic bears no resemblance to the hit comedy from the seventies with the same name. This time the recognizable term refers to the slot located in a scientific laboratory. The iGaming titles have covered almost every theme there is, and mad scientist slots are not a novelty.
Freaky Friday spins off Book of Ra with expanding symbols during the Free Spins round, alongside the Fixed Symbol feature. While proving thoroughly entertaining, Freaky Friday still has a few issues fans will have to deal with. Still, it has plenty to offer, and everyone can find something to like in it.
- Highly volatile slot with a maximum win of 10,000x the stake
- Twenty paylines
- Fixed Symbol and Free Spins
The visual presentation is praiseworthy, resembling retro cartoons from the 90s, which enhances the nostalgia factor. Everything looks crisp, and the appealing soundtrack complements the impression. As for the gameplay, there are innovative perks and features, but its flaws ultimately balance things out.
As exciting as it is, there is a feeling it could have been much more if the developers had been more flexible and relaxed. There is a lot to recommend in Freaky Friday, but it has drawbacks that hamper its quality. Still, it is for you if you are into wacky adventures that could bring hefty payouts.
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
The graphics of this online slot are sharp and clear, similar to a remastered retro game, evoking childhood memories.
The soundtrack is captivating and fits the atmosphere perfectly, for you know the scientist in question is up to no good. The grid is located in a laboratory, with prominent, colourful symbols dominating the screen. There are great ideas in this game, alongside a few attractive features.
However, the creators were afraid to fully embrace the craziness of the story, grounding it whenever it threatened to let loose. It has plenty to show for it, but we are sorry to say it never reaches its full potential.
Still, it has shown enough to see if Stakelogic will follow up on it with similar features and slightly improved gameplay. The action happens on a classic 5×4 grid with twenty paylines, where you land a win when three to five matching icons hit the same payline.
Five royals (10-A) are low-pay symbols, granting 2.5x-5x the bet for a five-of-a-kind hit. Premium symbols include Pill Bottles and Brains, valued 10x the bet, with Masks worth 25x the stake for five.
Moreover, Electrified Hats pay 50x for the same string, and the Scientist grants125x. The most lucrative symbols in the game are Wild Scatters, which give 200x the bet for five of a kind.
In-game features
Wilds and Scatters are instrumental in this game, and it happens to be the same symbol. The Book triggers the Free Spins round and replaces regulars in winning combinations. The Fixed Symbol is the remaining feature that increases your wins.
Fixed Symbol
Super Stake is a side bet that doubles the wager without affecting symbol payouts. The Golden Wild lands on the three middle reels when the feature is active, creating golden reels within the Bonus round.
If you land a symbol on reel one only, the active golden reels expand with the same icon to generate a win.
Freaky Friday Fixed Symbols Free Spins
Three to five Scatters on the reels activate the Bonus round. Before it starts, the game selects a symbol to expand during the game. If the expanding symbol can participate in a win, it covers all the positions on its reels.
Furthermore, expanding icons do not have to be on adjacent reels, forming wins from any of them. You will initially receive ten free spins when you trigger the round, with the expanding icon remaining the same all the time.
Numerous scoring opportunities are in store for you during the Bonus round.

RTP, bet sizes and volatility
The RTP Freaky Friday provides amounts to 96.47%, going above the industry standard. The hit frequency is unknown, but we do not expect it to be too high given the parameters. Albeit basic symbol values are mediocre, the payouts are more than decent.
Numerous betting options are present, starting from $0.20 as the lowest amount you can place.
Conversely, the largest bet amounts to $100, making the game accessible to high rollers and penny-pinchers alike. Adjust your parameters and preferences according to your needs and budget, and enjoy the game.
The game is highly volatile, indicating substantial payouts that do not come so frequently. Although the base game wins are not worth very much, you can still earn good money during the Bonus round. The maximum win of 10,000x the stake will be attractive to everyone.

Verdict
Freaky Friday Fixed Symbols is an engaging game with features that deliver a memorable playing experience. There are a few things the provider did great, but the company did not manage to polish everything it intended to.
Many punters will not want to pay for an extra feature, and you should activate it to unlock the game’s potential.
Without the additional feature, Freaky Friday is a generic expanding symbol title without too much intensity, despite the volatility. An excellent but uneven game. We rate it 3 out of 5 stars.
