Raven’s Reveal Review
Lightning Box has prepared an engaging horror slot for punters to chill their bones and provide decent wins. The slot industry has covered all the game genres, so developing a horror title is not exactly a novelty.
Still, horrors are a bit less widespread than some other genres, so Raven’s Reveal is a welcome addition. It is not particularly original feature-wise, but it provides numerous winning opportunities and is thoroughly entertaining.
The provider opts for safe choices, aiming for slot enthusiasts and genre fans. While the result is enjoyable and exciting, it will hardly break any records or top any lists. The game does not take great risks but uses its potential well.
- Medium volatility with a maximum win of 3,533x the stake
- Fifty paylines
- Moon symbols, Reveal, and Free Spins
The graphics are sharp and crisp, with the visuals appealingly combining colours. Together with an ominous soundtrack, they make a memorable audio-visual presentation. There is nothing particularly innovative in any field, but the provider did not make huge mistakes when developing this online slot.
Several features can bring you handsome wins, many originating from the Moon symbols. In addition, the Free Spins round can be lucrative if Lady Luck smiles upon you.
You will need a lot of patience to come close to the maximum win (which could have been better). The gameplay does not wear off quickly but is not the most attractive one in the industry.
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
Cemeteries, darkness, and fog are all parts of the standard horror iconography, and they provide the background here. A raven sits on a tombstone looking out, with a wolf howling in the back.
Everything looks and sounds sinister, and it will remain that way until you start recording wins. The soundtrack matches the atmosphere, making it positively creepy, but the gameplay itself is far from dangerous.
You will not experience high volatility with adrenaline-rushing sequences making you lose everything in an instant. Raven’s Reveal is medium in every way, from volatility to attractiveness.
The action occurs on a standard 6×4 grid with fifty paylines. Land three to six matching icons on a single payline from the left to grab a win. Blood-red royals (9-A) constitute the lower end of the paytable, granting 2x-2.4x for a six-of-a-kind hit.
Premium symbols include a Candelabra, a Cat, and a duo of Vampires, with the Male Vampire being the most lucrative. Premiums award 3x-6x for the same string.
Moreover, special symbols include a Wild Moon, a Red Wild Moon that appears in the Bonus round, and a Scatter. Scatters trigger the Free Spins round, initiating new winning chances.
In-game features
The Wild Moon symbol appears on all reels save for the first two, substituting regular icons and jackpot and cash-carrying Moon symbols. If Wild Moon icons participate in a win in the Reveal feature, each will reveal a cash prize.
The Moon symbols can appear on reels one and two in different versions, making wins only when the Reveal feature is triggered. Moon icons can carry three cash prizes and four Jackpots, amounting to 10x, 50x, 200x, and 1,000x the stake.
Furthermore, you can activate the Reveal feature once you land a Moon symbol on all six reels. The sum of all Moon icons is accumulated and paid to the player.
In the Free Spins, the Red Wild Moon symbols unveil one of the three Multipliers (x2, x3, and x5) or four Jackpots (Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand). The Jackpots are fixed and are not affected by the Multipliers.
Raven’s Reveal Free Spins
The Bonus round begins when you land three to six Scatter symbols anywhere on the grid. You will receive eight, twelve, sixteen, and twenty spins, respectively.
If you hit the same number of Scatters during the round, you will get the same number of spins, with two symbols giving you three spins. Moon Symbols will surely hit the first two reels with cash values or Jackpots.
The round finishes when you run out of spins, but Scatters also pay a cash prize when they land. You will get 2x, 5x, 25x, and 100x the bet, respectively.
A Red Wild Moon icon appears only during the Bonus round, with the same characteristics as the regular Wild symbol. It reveals a Multiplier or a Jackpot, with a guaranteed Jackpot prize if you land four Red Wild Moon symbols.

Verdict
Lightning Box has created an engaging slot that will excite horror fans and slot lovers. It is a decent time-killer with straightforward gameplay and a set of exciting features. However, we cannot help but feel the provider played it too safe for the genre.
It should have been slightly riskier and more lucrative to substantiate the ominous touch. You will have a good time, but it will not delight you permanently nor make you financially independent. We rate it 3 out of 5 stars.
