Master Joker Review
Modern online slots often leave us spoiled for choice when it comes to special features. This Pragmatic Play release goes in the opposite direction.
It gives us just one bonus and is played on a much smaller playing field. Will this different approach be enough to win over new audiences?
- Just one payline
- Wild with randomly assigned multiplier
- 10,000x jackpot
Back in the day, games were simple affairs. They offered one or two bonuses at most, if any at all. They were played on smaller boards. Mind you, this was not by design.
These were simply the limitations of the time. However, a subset of players enjoys these classic slots. This is Master Joker’s primary audience.
Casino members who can have fun with simple games. Of course, the 10,000x jackpot no doubt helps a lot!
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
The graphics are top notch. It covers the same material older releases often did. However, it makes full use of stronger hardware to maximize visual appeal.
The female joker is fully animated. She shifts back and forth, and will spin the lucky wheel when the time is right.
If you idle, she will occasionally seek to draw your attention. You may not like the theme, but the graphics are undeniably good.
You play Master Joker on a five-reel, one-row board. That means we only have one payline to consider. It makes forming a win much more difficult.
In order to win, you need three or more matching symbols next to one another. All winning combinations must start with the leftmost position. If these conditions are not met, the relevant cash prize will not be awarded.
In-game features
Players only get access to one bonus in this slot. To get it, you need a Wild to appear on the third reel.
Then, that Wild has to substitute for another icon in a winning combination. When that happens, the joker will spin the multiplier wheel above the reels.
The wheel can grant a variety of multipliers, ranging from 2x to 100x.

RTP, bet sizes and volatility
The RTP for this game is 96.46%. This is above average compared to the current industry average of 96%. It is doubly impressive, considering how limited your ways to win are in this release.
You can bet between $0.01 and $100 on each spin. This is a huge spread of wagers, which will please both casual audiences and high rollers. You change your bet by using the plus and minus buttons.
The maximum cash prize you can win is 10,000x your total stake. If you want to score that prize, you need to get extremely lucky. First, you need a five-of-a-kind win of the most valuable symbol.
Then, you need a Wild in reel three and for it to grant a 100x multiplier. As such, it is hardly a surprise to learn Master Joker is a highly volatile slot. You need a lot of luck to squeeze a big win from its single payline.
If you want to play this game at a online casino, we recommend you check out Wheelz Casino!
Verdict
Simple games are something we occasionally enjoy. However, there is a definite limit where things get too simple for our liking.
This release falls squarely in that territory. It has high variance and just one payline. It can take ages to land any kind of win.
Additionally, players only get one special feature. Now, there are things we like about Master Joker. The jackpot is fantastic, and the visuals are top notch.
We rate it 3 out of 5 stars. It has potential, but it will not win over any modern video slot fans.
