Outlaw Review
The Wild West has no time for Johnny Law and his heroism. The vast desert and few towns make for perfect hideouts where bandits lie in wait. Far from civilization, they live life by their own rules and descend on unsuspecting towns to take their riches for themselves.
Big Time Gaming’s Outlaw lets you take the saddle of some infamous gunslingers as you turn the American Rockies into your playground. Strap on your revolvers and spur your horse into action. The Wild West awaits and has many valuables waiting to be taken.
- High volatility video slot with a jackpot worth 64,400x your total stake
- Up to 117,649 ways to win
- Two free spins, enhanced bonuses, Win Exchange, and Bonus Buy
Once more, we see Big Time Gaming’s art team knock it out of the park. You can almost feel the scorching heat when you look at the backdrop and imagine yourself there. They also did a great job with the sound design, helping to draw you into this exciting cowboy world.
The online slot has several features, all of which are fun in their unique way. The developer brings back several favorite bonuses to make this release stand out. This release will do a great job entertaining you with its gameplay and extra features.
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
We like how the Big Time Gaming handled the theme with superb visuals and symbol designs. Activating bonuses shifts the backdrop from towering mountains and cloudy skies to the inside of an old-school saloon.
The sound and music design are also immersive, which makes playing Outlaw much more enjoyable. The game’s bonuses shake up gameplay, adding to the fun factor of playing this slot. The fact you can score a more significant win during these features also adds to their appeal.
You play Outlaw on a six-reel board with up to 117,649 ways to win. The game uses the Megaways system, meaning the height of each reel and available ways to win change every spin. Winning requires at least three identical icons next to one another, starting with the leftmost reel.
Symbol designs feature a question mark, playing card royals, a cactus, a flask, a flower, and a bull skull. We wrote this review based on a preview copy, which does not have icon payouts finalized.
Playing card royals will undoubtedly be lower-value symbols, while other icons will pay more. The silver and gold revolvers are Scatters, while the full-reel bandits act as Wilds.
In-game features
If you decide to play this release, you can look forward to many top-notch bonuses. Available features include two types of free spins, enhanced versions of those free spins, Win Exchange and Bonus Buy.
Regular and Enhanced Free Spins
Upon landing enough Scatters on the playing field, you activate the free spins bonus. You can pick two free spin features: Fallen Angel and Dizzy In The Head. Both free spins can become enhanced if one of the triggering Scatters is a gold Megascatter.
Fallen Angel free spins awards seven extra turns with random icon sticky Wilds. The slot will select one of the playing card royals to be a sticky Wild for reels two to five.
Landing a whole reel of sticky Wilds grants three extra free spins. The Enhanced Fallen Angel free spins add a second sticky Wilds for reels two to five. The second sticky Wild is chosen randomly between the skull, flower, bottle, or cactus.
Dizzy In The Head free spins award eight free spins. During this feature, Wilds cover the entire reel and appear with a ladder. The ladder contains multipliers ranging from 11x to 77x. The highlighted multiplier gets awarded as a prize.
Find three, four, or five Scatters to win an extra four, six, or seven free spins, respectively. Enhanced Dizzy In The Head free spins boosts Wild ladder payouts, allowing them to climb up to 777x.
Buy Bonus
You can get around waiting to activate Outlaw’s free spins using the Bonus Buy feature. Regular free spins cost 70x to purchase. Meanwhile, the enhanced free spins cost 300x your total stake.
Win Exchange
Big Time Gaming’s Win Exchange bonus is back again, giving you a way to gamble your winnings. If you win between 25x to 100x your stake, you can exchange it for a chance at receiving free spins.
You will get seven or eight free spins, depending on which bonus you activate. You gamble by spinning a lucky wheel; if it lands in green, you win.
If you have won over 100x, you are guaranteed to receive free spins if you exchange your win.

RTP, bet sizes, and volatility
Outlaw’s RTP ranges from 96.10% to 96.16%. That is above average when compared to other slot games. The developer did not share any information about this title’s hit frequency.
The betting range for this release is $0.10 to $20, according to the team. However, this can change depending on the Canadian real money casino you’re playing at.
High variance promises big wins, though landing them will take time, effort and luck. Outlaw’s top prize is 64,400x your wager. A worthwhile jackpot for players willing to face the slot’s very high volatility.
Verdict
Big Time Gaming has a knack for producing fun and attractive slot games. The Wild West theme is a classic, one the art team brought to life with superb visuals.
Extra features do nothing innovative but remain entertaining and lucrative if you get lucky. This is definitely a slot that you should give a try at an online casino. We rate this release 4 out of 5 stars.
