Star Clusters Megapays Review
Big Time Gaming has maintained the tradition of introducing revolutionary mechanics. Instead of collecting royalty cheques from the Megaways licences, the company has introduced Megaclusters, another groundbreaking game engine.
It was first presented in Star Clusters Megaclusters, which came out two years ago. Nowadays, BTG will release another long-anticipated game, similar to the mentioned predecessor.
Star Clusters Megapays promises more lucrative winning opportunities and even more thrilling entertainment. Do you have what it takes to grab the Mega Jackpot and take the loot home?
- High volatility with a maximum win of 27,050x the stake outside the Jackpots
- Cluster Pays
- Cascading Wins, Free Spins and Jackpots
The online slot boasts beautiful graphics with colorful gem symbols dominating the screen. While nothing too attractive, they provide a fun environment for such a thrilling and fast-paced game.
The somewhat standard set of features for a Megaclusters title provides a memorable playing experience. The atmosphere is continuously entertaining, with a couple of surprises to keep the temperature up.
Cascading wins, progressive Multipliers, Free Spins, and Jackpots are among the game’s assets. The release has its share of minor drawbacks, but it promises to be among the more popular BTG titles in the upcoming months.
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
The simple, vibrant walls in different colors provide the background for the game grid, making way for the striking gems to enter the fray. Jewels in various shapes dominate the game board, providing thoroughly entertaining sequences and situations.
Numerous exhilarating features keep the casino game exciting and tense all the time, keeping punters on the edge of their seats.
Although the Megaways engine has always been more popular between the two, Megaclusters has had its loyal fan base from the beginning, and such slots still have a lot to offer. Let yourself go and try to land the Mega Jackpot.
The action happens on a 4×4 game grid, possibly turning into a 16×16 due to splitting symbols. Form clusters of matching symbols to grab hefty wins and trigger lucrative features.
The icons are all gems in multiple colors, the lower end of the paytable beginning with a Turquoise, a Yellow, an Orange and a Green Gem. They award you 0.1x-0.15x for five, while you can land 10x-50x the bet for a cluster of twenty-five or more.
Premium symbols include a Blue, a Red and a Purple one, granting 0.2x-1x for five and 50x the stake for 25+. Moreover, a Rainbow Star is a regular Wild, replacing all the gems, while a Gold Star does the same.
However, it also increases the Gold Wild Multiplier when it participates in a win. Two Gold Wilds can appear simultaneously on the board.
In-game features
The primary 4×4 game grid can go up to 8×8 in the base game and 16×16 in the Free Spins round through Megacluster reactions. The winning symbols vanish from the board and are replaced by four smaller icons in 2×2 grids.
If the new symbols create wins, the combinations will disappear with a new set of small symbols raining from above. The feature ends when there are no more winning combos.
The Gold Wild Multiplier is located on the top of the slot, telling how much the next Gold Wild Win will be enhanced. It starts at x1 and increases by +1 with every such win.
When no more wins remain, the Multiplier resets if it does not trigger the Free Spins. If it does, it remains active throughout the round.
Furthermore, the Megapays feature can trigger any of the four Jackpots, the most prominent one seeding at $300,000. The higher the bet, the bigger the chance to activate the feature, which can be done on any spin.
It starts by picking a random card (9-A), which you aim for throughout the feature. We are now on a 6×7 grid with a glittering casino behind.
If one or more of your symbols hits the reels, they remain on the board, with the rest spinning on. The game finishes when you do not land special icons or trigger the Mega Jackpot.
There are four Jackpots, Mini, Midi, Major and Mega, requiring 4-7, 8-11, 12-14 and 15+ symbols, respectively. As said, every Jackpot is progressive, with the largest one guaranteeing at least $300,000.
Star Clusters Megapays Free Spins
When you record five consecutive wins, you activate the Free Spins Bonus. The five wins provide two spins with an extra one for every additional win. The round begins on an 8×8 grid, possibly enhancing to 16×16.
The Gold Wild Multiplier never resets during the round, starting on the number that activated the Free Spins. Players receive two extra spins whenever they reach a Multiplier value of x10.

RTP, bet sizes and volatility
The default RTP value stands at 96.27%, going slightly above the industry standard. The hit frequency has not been announced yet, but do not expect anything spectacular given the rest of the parameters.
For punters, numerous betting possibilities are in store, with the lowest possible bet at $0.20 and the maximum bet of $20.
The idea was to make the game affordable for everyone, but high rollers are likely to be turned off. However, they will indubitably be attracted by the Mega Jackpot, if nothing else.
The volatility is extremely high, promising thrilling and action-packed moments throughout the game. It means the wins will be less frequent but more substantial.
The maximum win of 27,050x the stake promises handsome payouts. Add the Jackpots into the mix, and you have lucrative situations to look forward to.
