Dragons Breath Review
Most stories of dragons portray them as fierce, terrifying beasts that are incredibly difficult to take down. While that is true, they forget to mention one crucial detail. Dragons are lazy!
At least, the one in Rabcat’s Dragon’s Breath slot is lazy. Most of the time, he will be lounging by the reels and watching the action unfold. At least, up until you break into his treasure hoard. Then, his wings and fiery breath become incredibly dangerous. Will you be able to take the great beast’s treasure?
- Medium variance with a 1,250x jackpot
- Cluster pays replace traditional paylines
- Special features include the two flames bonuses and a free spins round
Casino members looking for a thrill can face off against numerous beasts. However, very few creatures offer the same prestige a dragon does when defeated. The fire-breathing lizard in this online slot may look lazy, but he is still dangerous.
That is why you will need to use the special features at your disposal to steal his treasure. Double flames, triple flames, and the free spins round all play a crucial role in your success. If you are brave enough to tackle the dragon’s den, you could come out with a 1,250x top prize.
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
A dragon jealously guarding its treasure is a theme that has been explored countless times already. However, that does not stop it from being entertaining.
Especially not when a team of talented artists handles it. We love the contrast of the dragon lazily lounging most of the time.
Then, when you enter its den, it springs into action to stop you from taking its loot. The animations during free spins, in particular, are top-tier. Great work, Rabcat!
You play this game on a five-reel, five-row board with cluster pays instead of traditional paylines. This simplifies the process of landing wins since they no longer need to follow set paths on the board.
You win by landing between six to twenty-five identical symbols in adjacent positions. Icons can be adjacent horizontally or vertically, but not diagonally. The more symbols are present in a cluster, the better the payout will be.
In-game features
Land two five-of-a-kind wins simultaneously to activate the double flames bonus. This special feature grants one extra spin with cloned reels. In the double flames special feature, reels two and three are cloned, increasing your odds of winning. You cannot retrigger this bonus.
If you score three five-of-a-kind wins at the same time, you win the triple flames bonus. This feature works almost identically to the double flames special feature.
Once again, you are given one bonus spin. This time, reels two, three, and four are cloned instead of just two and three. Like the double flames bonus, this special feature cannot be retriggered.
Dragon’s Breath Free Spins
Three, four, or five Scatters will grant eight, twelve, or sixteen free spins, respectively. During free spins, the dragonflies around the board and spews fire on the reels.
This can create between five and eleven burning Wilds in random positions on the playing field. The dragon breathes fire every other free spin, adding or removing Wilds depending on how lucky you get.
It is possible to retrigger this bonus and win additional free spins. You simply need to land enough Scatters while the special feature is active.

RTP, bet sizes and volatility
The RTP for this Rabcat release is 96.06%. This is better than the current average for slots, which sits at 96%. Not by much, but even a slight advantage is better than none!
You can bet between $0.20 and $200 on each spin. Players can win a 1,250x maximum jackpot while playing Dragon’s Breath.
This is not a spectacular prize, but it suits the game’s medium variance quite nicely. If you were hoping for high volatility and big wins, you would need to find a different dragon’s den.

Verdict
While we would not call this casino game revolutionary, it does exactly what it sets out to do. It tells a story of a dragon guarding its treasure and keeps it entertaining through its gameplay.
You can feel the stakes rise when you enter free spins and see the until-then passive dragon spewing fire everywhere. It makes for a nice marriage of game mechanics and special features, which we enjoyed quite a bit.
We rate Dragon’s Breath 3 out of 5 stars. Not perfect, but well worth checking out if it sounds interesting.
