Mancala Quest Review
Many providers create games that take players to exotic locations. The adventures look and sound more realistic when situated in an exciting place. When it comes to Mancala Quest, its namesake developer, Mancala Gaming, located the game in the African Savannah.
Go on a treasure hunt with a team of adventurers and grab some hefty wins while you are there. Maybe nothing can grow on a barren wasteland, but it can hold some handsome payouts for the lucky punters.
A few attractive features will make your game more thrilling, including Stacked Wilds and lucrative Free Spins. Do you have what it takes to explore Africa and snatch big wins?
- Medium volatility with a maximum win of 9,200x the stake
- Twenty-five paylines
- Stacked Wilds, Free Spins and Bonus Quest
The graphics are sharp and crisp, resembling a 90s video game. The hot savannah is the backdrop with many things lurking around in the sun. While this online slot is probably not the best one designed by Mancala, it is pleasant to look at.
It cranks up the nostalgia, with a traditional African tune playing in the background. An excellent effort altogether, with an appealing audio-visual presentation, albeit far from the most memorable game you have played.
Mancala Quest knows its limitations, never going out of its own way to look or sound better than it is. Lisa and Carl invite you for an enjoyable adventure with their team, which is precisely what this game is.
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
Though visually attractive and pretty rich, Mancala Quest is not the most visually arresting game you have ever seen. It has a certain offbeat retro quality that works to its benefit.
Albeit it does not represent anything particularly innovative, the graphics manage to be one of the better elements of this slot. The music is entirely fitting for such a slot, and a solid African tune completes the experience.
The base game starts slow, but everything will be different when the Bonus games arrive. If lucky, you might land a hefty amount of 9,200x the bet, which is far from a small amount. The exploration of Africa has always been an exciting theme to cover.
The action plays out on a 5×4 grid with twenty-five paylines, and lucrative opportunities may arrive. Land three matching symbols on adjacent reels to grab a win.
Low-tier symbols include a Book, and a Drum (up to 1x the bet), with five Compasses and Water Bottles worth up to 4x. In addition, Rubies and Emeralds are high-pay icons, granting up to 6x-10x the stake.
Finally, a Diamond is the most lucrative symbol, awarding up to 200x the stake for a five-of-a-kind hit. Carl and Lisa are Wilds, appearing in fully stacked mode.
They are there to replace paying symbols, but they also trigger some of the Bonuses. Everything is possible should you trigger the right things.
In-game features
The core feature in the base game and outside the Bonuses is Stacked Wilds. Moreover, they only land on the first and the last reel and can replace everything but Masks.
Stacked Wilds become sticky in the Free Spins round and stay on the reels for each spin, leading to better spins and wins.
Enough to hold your attention, for sure, but check the Free Spins and the Bonus game for the greatest surprises. Everybody will find something to like, at least for a short while.
Mancala Quest Free Spins
There are two Bonus quests in the game, from Mancala Free Spins to Quest Bonus. The former activates when a fully stacked Wild lands on the reels. The two explorers are on your side to help you cobble through the area.
The initial number of spins was ten, with twenty-five more if you rack another one during the round. Furthermore, two Stacked Wilds simultaneously initially start the round with thirty-five free spins.
Additionally, the Mask symbol on the third reel triggers the game. There are two rows with six cups, with each cup having four stones and the objective to collect all of them.
You will receive an extra spin to collect the stones when you do it. Finally, when the stones are cleared, the round finishes. In the end, all the stones are added up, and the winner is the one who has the most. The reward is fifteen spins and a win Multiplier.

RTP, bet sizes and volatility
The RTP amounts to 95%, going below the industry standard, but having a lot to offer in various other ways. The hit frequency has not been announced, but it cannot be too high given the parameters.
Various wagering options are in store for the players, from $0.25 to $225, which are bound to delight high rollers and penny-pinchers. The broad betting range is fantastic for every preference to adjust the game according to your budget.
The game has medium volatility, meaning decent wins will come at regular intervals without adrenaline-inducing sequences.
However, given the circumstances, the maximum potential amount of 9,200x the stake is pretty great. You will need a lot of luck and patience to grab it, but there is a chance. Get ready to get scorching hot searching for the riches.
Verdict
Mancala Quest has plenty to show for it, with a couple of fascinating features, fast-paced gameplay and an intriguing theme. It also has its fair share of problems with a measly RTP and not-too-innovative concept.
It will not break records or top lists, but it has its audience. Slot enthusiasts into exotic locations and solid maximum wins but do not want to lose all their money quickly will love Mancala Quest. We rate it 3 out of 5 stars.
