RegionsBet365 Gets Ready for Ontario Launch
Published: March 23, 2025
Bet365 has been approved by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario to open an Ontario online casino as soon as the regulated market launches on April 4. At the same time, the regulator has tightened application conditions.
Based in the UK, Bet365 is regulated by the Gibraltar Gambling Commission and is present in many key markets around the globe, including the US.
However, the provincial authorities have issued a new guide to help operators prepare for the application process. The primary condition for getting the necessary approval is to cease all unregulated activity in Ontario before April 4.
All online casinos who don’t meet this requirement after the new market launch won’t be able to get their license approved. A similar policy was enforced in the Netherlands, forcing several operators to withdraw.
So far, Bet365 hasn’t revealed any detailed information regarding its Ontario plans. However, the rumour says the company has developed an exclusive application for customers in Canada, which offers $25 in free bets.
The list of the AGCO-approved operators includes theScore Bet, Rivalry Corp, PointsBet, FansUnite and Rush Street Interactive, GGPoker, 888 casino, and LeoVegas. GGPoker and 888 are the first two poker operators to get the green light.
Operators approved by the AGCO, who have already signed an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario, can offer their services to customers in Canada’s most populous province. This type of agreement allows operators to run their sites on behalf of the province.
Last week, the Canadian Gaming Association inked a Memorandum of Understanding with the International Betting Integrity Association.
The move aimed to establish a basis for coordination and cooperation between the two entities on integrity issues to protect the market in Ontario and Canada from corrupt activities.
