Theme, Graphics and Sounds
The choice of theme is good, but what really wins us over is the background image. We do not even get a glimpse of the city.
Instead, we see Atlanteans standing guard, judging if we are worthy of entering their underwater paradise. We see glimpses of it coming from symbol designs, which depict various animals and mermaid people.
You play this release on a five-reel, four-row board with twenty-five paylines. The paylines are fixed, meaning they cannot be toggled on or off to change the total bet.
Wins are granted by finding three matching icons in adjacent positions, starting with the leftmost reel. Winning combinations have to follow an active payline, or the associated cash prize will not be paid.
In-game features
Every spin has a chance of placing Rising Wilds on the board. When this happens and what position the Wild lands on is determined randomly.
Rising Wilds move up by one position on every spin, before eventually disappearing from view.
Rising Wilds can also appear with a 2x multiplier attached. When that happens, any win, including the 2x Rising Wild will have its payout increased accordingly.
If a Compass symbol lands behind the Rising Wild, Wild Blast will activate. All icons adjacent to the affected Wild will turn into Wilds.
These will be standard Wilds or 2x Wilds. However, unlike Rising Wilds, they do not persist into the next spin. Instead, they disappear, making room for new symbols to land in their place.
Atlantis Rising Free Spins
Three or more Scatters activate the free spins round. However, free spins are not granted directly. Instead, the game has a special bubble pick feature.
Each bubble can grant up to five free spins or two to three more bubble picks. How many bubbles you can choose from depends on the number of triggering Scatters.
Three, four or five Scatters award ten, fifteen, or twenty bubble picks, respectively. Players can retrigger free spins by finding three or more Scatters during the special feature.
