Fire Hopper Review
It’s time to go down the waterhole and find tranquillity in an unusual setting full of frogs. This tranquillity is a subjective term, as Push Gaming’s online slot comes with high volatility.
The best way to relax would be in the base game, as you can get a bit sleepy there. However, the situation drastically changes once the Free Spins round is triggered. Are you ready for an experience like no other?
- High volatility with a top prize of 50,000 times the bet
- The Cluster Pays mechanic
- It’s all about Free Spins, where Wilds, instant prizes and progressive win multipliers promise lots of fun
Developers at Push Gaming made sure players had more than enough chances to scoop prizes. In addition to the Cluster Pays mechanic, there is the Free Spins round where instant prizes, Wilds, and progressive multiplies will get your heart beating fast in a moment.
Fire Hopper is capable of producing massive wins of up to 50,000 times your stake. That’s a suitable reward for those players brave enough to tackle the game’s high volatility.
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
The background imagery matches the slot’s peaceful atmosphere. On the screen, you’ll see rocks, grass, and lily pads, with the tranquil bird song playing in the background as the reels spin.
But we advise you not to get too comfortable, as there’s a lot of excitement on offer. You’ll need to show a bit of patience since it takes some time for the atmosphere to heat up.
The game is set on a seven-reel, seven-row grid. There are no paylines or winning ways since Fire Hopper uses the Cluster Pays system. You’ll need at least five matching symbols adjacent to each other to create a winning cluster.
It triggers the cascade mechanic, removing the triggering icons from the grid and filling empty positions with new ones. New wins may be formed in the process, repeating cascades.
In-game features
Whenever a frog symbol lands along with at least one firefly icon, the Leaping Frog feature is activated. The frog leaps to the firefly, leaving a gold frog in its position.
The multiplier starts at 1x, increasing by one when the frog jumps. If an instant prize symbol is on the grid, the frog will leap onto it, once again leaving a golden frog in its place.
This awards a prize worth up to 1,000 times the stake, which can be significantly boosted with the help of the multiplier.
Fire Hopper Free Spins
If a bonus firefly symbol appears on the reels at the same time as a frog icon, the frog will leap onto it to trigger the Free Spins round.
Players receive seven spins, while the multiplier is carried over to the bonus. The frog symbol stays on the reels until the feature comes to an end.
The multiplier increases the same ways as in Leap Feature, but gold frogs take on the current multiplier value this time. Unlike frog symbols, golden frogs are not persistent and are removed from the grid between spins.
The bonus buy feature is available in some jurisdictions, allowing players to buy Free Spins by clicking on the star icon. The cost of doing that is 124 times your bet.

RTP, bet sizes and volatility
Fire Hopper comes with a default RTP of 96.30%. However, the game is available in other, much lower configurations, so checking the RTP value before playing is advisable. Also, using the bonus buy feature increases the payout percentage to 96.38%.
Betting starts at $0.10, while the maximum bet is $100 per spin. The slot’s top prize is worth 50,000 times your bet.
Since this is a highly volatile release, we believe that’s an appropriate reward, as it’s not easy to deal with the slot’s nature.

Verdict
Fire Hopper may not impress you at first, but this will change as your playing session progresses. Its graphics are far from stunning, and the tranquil setting may be too much at times, but things heat up once the features are triggered.
Push Gaming’s release also has a massive win potential, promising payouts of up to 50,000 times the bet.
All of a sudden, you’re in the middle of a thrilling surrounding, with plenty of opportunities to make the most out of this experience. We rate it 5 out of 5 stars.
