Money Mariachi Infinity Reels Review
ReelPlay comes out singing and dancing with a fine-looking slot machine named Money Mariachi Infinity Reels. You are right to assume that the game belongs to the Infinity Reels series and applies the system without compromise.
Is it a trendsetter? It may be early to tell, but judging by Money Mariachi Infinity Reels and its success, the mechanic is becoming more and more prevalent.
Money Mariachi takes on a Mexican theme and brings it home. Running on a grid of 3 reels and 4 rows initially, the online slot has to offer a lot more than it may appear to have in store.
- High variance, offering a max win up to 50,000x the bet
- Infinity Reels mechanic
- Comes with extra features like Infinity Bonus, Level Up Respins and Feature Buy
Money Mariachi Infinity Reels delivers a fun time, but how does it do it? Let’s have a look at all the features and elements that make this ReelPlay slot machine pop.
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
Just reading the name Money Mariachi Infinity Reels gives anyone a pretty good idea of what the game is about – winning prizes and enjoying some mariachi music.
Of course, that is not all. If you look at the decorative graphic and the colour palette that was used by the designers, the game has a neotraditional feel to it.
The orange, yellow and purple highlights bring it all together and the screen constantly looks vibrant and alive.
For those who are unaware, the Day of the Dead is a huge festivity in Mexico, a tradition that serves not to mourn the dead but to celebrate their lives.
The activities presented in Money Mariachi take place during these festivities, so we can see a little Mexican town at night, with decorations everywhere.
People leave their homes and visit the graveyards, so it comes as no surprise that some of the symbols on the reels include tombstones, candles and shrines.
Other icons are a lovely girl in traditional Day of the Dead makeup and outfit, a sombrero, a pair of maracas and a guitar.
The flow of the reels is smooth when you hit that play button and the sounds are fitting to the theme. You will jam to mariachi music on the gloomiest of days.
Something that we did not expect is the famous Wagner piece, Ride of the Valkyries, which can be heard during big wins. Certainly adds a bit of drama to the experience.
In-game Features
As far as features go, Money Mariachi Infinity Reels has multiple traits and characteristics that make the gameplay never feel boring or monotonous.
For one, each spin starts with 3 reels and 4 rows but more reels are added, one by one, whenever there is a win involving the rightmost reel.
When this Infinity Reels feature starts to snowball, you can expect a symbol multiplier to increase the win value each time a new reel is added to the grid.
Winning combos are created starting from the leftmost reel and you need at least five matching icons to bag a payout. The guitar Wild plays a major part in increasing the win potential since it replaces any symbol to complete a winning line.
The system is well thought through. It’s backed up by three additional features – the Infinity Bonus, the Level Up Respins and the Feature Buy.
If you manage to keep up with the expanding grid and you reach 12 reels added, you will earn a bonus payout worth 888x the bet.
This may happen at any point, during the base game, or during other features. The payout is issued on top of any other applicable wins.
Make sure to spot the shrine symbols because if you land three of them or more, you will obtain 3 respins as a reward in the Level Up Respins feature.
The triggering icons will remain in place and acquire a value between 1x and 10x the bet. The appearance of a new shrine symbol will reset the respins counter to 3 again. Now, this is where things become a bit complicated.
During the Level Up Respins, it is possible to fill the reel grid with the shrine or special symbols, in which case a new reel gets added.
What are special symbols? There are 4 of them: Grower, Freezer, Booster and Charmer. Each respin at a time, these special icons gain skulls and completing the collection of 6 skulls makes the symbol level up and issue some sort of a feature modifier.
For instance, Freezer can freeze the number of respins for the duration of 2 respins and transform back to a regular shrine symbol.
Charmer’s “power” is to reduce the number of skulls needed to level up by 1, and that applies to all surrounding shrine/special symbols.

RTP, Bet sizes and Volatility
While the exact return to player percentage is a bit hard to pinpoint due to all the changes the grid goes through during gameplay, it is typical for ReelPlay slots to have an RTP in the range of 95.50% – 96.50%, or slightly higher.
Upon loading Money Mariachi, you can place bets between $0.20 and $40 per spin.
The variance is high, so act with caution. These wins may not come as often as you would like, but when they do, the screen will light up and the party will peak. A max win of 50,000x the bet is worth waiting for.
