Prism of Gems Review
We are used to Play’n GO offering mouth-watering visuals. However, Prism of Gems takes that to the next level! While the theme and concept behind the slot is not new, it has been executed almost flawlessly.
However, graphics are not everything. A game also has to offer top-notch gameplay and a suitable jackpot to win players over. Does this release have what it takes to succeed?
- Highly volatile with 30,000x jackpot
- Extra multiplier reel on top of the playing field
- Cascading reels mechanic
Have you ever been to an observatory? While not a glamorous trip, you can see all kinds of interesting sights there, which is why Prism of Gems is set there.
It makes for an interesting view that we do not often see in online slots. Despite the relaxing view, you should not forget this is a highly volatile game.
You can win up to 30,000x your total stake if all the stars align. To land that big win, you need to take advantage of cascading reels, multipliers, free spins, and symbol splitting.
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
The choice of theme is very interesting, but it ultimately does not offer a whole lot. The background image looks cool but does not offer much in the way of animations.
Except for sunlight illuminating a bit of dust that slowly falls down onto the ground. Beyond that, players can check out quite a few icon designs.
They are split into playing card royals and gems of multiple colours. Relatively generic, but it still looks good. Great job by the art team!
You play this release on a five-reel, three-row board with 576 ways to win. Thanks to one of the bonuses, the number of ways to win can increase up to 3087.
There is also an extra three-symbol row above the primary three. Wins are granted when you find three or more matching icons next to one another.
Winning combinations have to start with the leftmost reel, or the relevant cash prize is not paid.
In-game features
The big gem with the golden frame acts as the wild and substitutes for all symbols except the scatter symbol.
Cascading reels are in effect in Prism of Gems. Winning symbols disappear from the board, leaving behind empty positions.
Existing icons will fall down to take their place, while brand new ones will appear from the top. This allows you to win multiple times in a single spin.
The bonus is also integral to making multipliers work. All three positions in the multiplier reel row have a multiplier applied to them.
Each time a symbol in the bonus row cascades, the multiplier for that position increases by one. The maximum multiplier value for those three positions is 7x.
Multipliers will multiply each other if several are included in the winning combination. This means your maximum possible multiplier is 343x. Multipliers reset between regular spins.
Icons that appear on reels two, three, and four can split. When a symbols matches the symbol of the multiplier reel it splits in 2.
This can give you up to 7 symbols on a single reel!
Prism of Gems Free Spins
Three, four, or five Scatters will grant ten, fifteen or twenty free spins. Multipliers carry into free spins and continue to increase until the bonus ends.
Each Scatter that lands during free spins grants two extra turns.
