Pyramid Strike Review
Ancient Egypt has always been an inspiring setting for various providers to develop games with this empire as the theme. Who built the pyramids is still a mystery to this day, but they have invariably provided an exciting backdrop for various titles.
The guys from Stakelogic take you back in history once again, allowing you to explore the wondrous constructions and make a fortune in the process. Walk like an Egyptian and score big wins with the Pyramid Strike Bonus, Free Spins, Super Stake and many other surprises.
- Low-to-high volatility with a 3,140x maximum win
- Twenty fixed paylines
- Utilize multiple opportunities to receive big bucks, from two bonuses to the Gamble feature
Pyramid Strike is a beautiful-looking online slot with rich visuals and multiple features to keep you entertained. The game lures you in from the start, with Wilds and Scatters that keep you going and Pyramid Bonus symbols awarding instant cash prizes.
If switched on, the Super Stake feature elevates the maximum win to 3,140x, changing the volatility from low to high. It is not the most lucrative slot in the library, but it shouldn’t prevent players from taking a stab at this one.
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
As the title suggests, the game uses Ancient Egypt as a setting. Yellow and purple are dominant colours, and they are an excellent fit for the theme. Stakelogic has decided for a cartoonish vibe with this one, combining it with more atmospheric elements beautifully.
The soundtrack is appropriately catchy, giving the game a mystical feel. The scenery changes with the Free Spins round is triggered, with the wheel deciding the number of spins and the Multiplier value. Kudos to Stakelogic’s design team.
The game takes place on a classic 5×3 board with twenty traditional paylines. Land at least three matching symbols on adjacent reels to score a win, starting from the leftmost reel.
The card royals (J-A) are the lowest-paying symbols in the game, and the four premium symbols award you 4x-50x the stake for a five-of-a-kind win. If you are lucky, there are multiple opportunities for landing hefty wins.
In-game features
Scarabs are Wild symbols that replace all the regular icons and grant you the same amount as the highest-paying icon for a five-of-a-kind win.
Pyramids are the Bonus symbols that award you instant cash prizes, while Temple Doors are Scatters that trigger the Free Spins. You can activate the Super Stake to spice up the game and make it more thrilling.
Land three Pyramid Bonus symbols anywhere on the grid to trigger an instant cash prize. The bigger the number of Pyramids, the more handsome the payout.
Three to nine Bonus symbols can appear, and they can pay 1x, 5x, 15x, 50x, 100x, 500x and 2,500x the stake, respectively. The same rules apply to both the base game and the Bonus round.
After you hit the winning combo or the Pyramid Strike win, you can try to double or quadruple your winnings.
Guess the colour of a face-down card and then its suit to do it, gambling up to five times or until you use up the displayed limit. If you take a wrong guess, you lose the money you have won up to that point.
Pyramid Strike Free Spins
If three Door Scatters appear anywhere on the board, you receive Free Spins. A two-ringed wheel rotates to award ten to thirty free spins with a x2 or x3 Multiplier.
The Multiplier is active with all the wins without affecting the Pyramid Strike Bonus prizes. The process can be repeated and the bonus round retriggered up to three times, awarding the same number of spins as before.

RTP, bet sizes and volatility
The highest RTP the game provides is 95.80% which is already below the industry standard, with some jurisdictions offering a scandalously low value of 88%.
The betting range goes between $0.20 and $40, not offering too many options to high rollers. You can adjust the number of autospins in the game menu, together with other parameters.
The regular base game has low volatility (2/5), which can rise to medium/high volatility 4/5 if the Super Stake is activated.
It doesn’t look too exciting for risk-takers, but with the maximum bet and the Super Stake switched on, it can still be pretty lucrative. The amount can go up to 3,140x your initial stake, which is OK for an unassuming game like this one.
Verdict
It is hard to be highly original, with many Egypt-themed slots overflowing the market. Even though it is a rehash of 9 Masks of Fire, Pyramid Strike still manages to hide a few surprises up its sleeve.
The features are not new, but they can be pretty exciting, especially the two bonuses. The prizes are pretty hefty, but the unbelievably low RTP, unfortunately, mars the game.
It is still highly entertaining, but it could have been much more. We rate it 4 out of 5 stars.
