Pushy Cats Review
Pushy Cats is a cartoonish slot game developed by Yggdrasil. This zany release does not take itself too seriously and profits from it handsomely. Seemingly a standard title with a set of standard features, it manages to deviate from the norm, bringing a few surprises.
While it will not break any records, it will indubitably deliver a memorable experience and provide fond memories in the future. The provider has produced an engaging game designed in the vein of game shows, with hefty payouts to spice things up. Purr your way through the game and grab massive wins.
- High volatility with a maximum win of 20,000x the stake
- Twenty paylines
- Sticky Wild Respins, a lucrative Bonus game and the Bonus Buy feature
Pushy Cats has a lovingly playful design that turns up the nostalgia factor and brings you back to your childhood. A 90s game show is the best possible background for an online slot, and the creators have utilized the concept in question very well.
The soundtrack fits the game like a glove with relaxing, upbeat tunes. There are no over-complicated features, yet, the game is more than a classic retro slot. The casino game is highly volatile but appeals to everyone with its broad betting range.
The hefty maximum win of 20,000x the stake will undoubtedly attract high rollers and modest players. With all the money you can win and the thrills it offers, this feline slot manages to be entirely unpretentious. Yggdrasil has applied a magic touch, blending more than decent payouts and fewer complex features.
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
Pushy Cats feels like a 90s cartoon, bringing pleasant childhood memories to the surface. You will feel like a kid again when you see the symbol design, a starting point for enjoying the game.
It is an easy-going game with a charming soundtrack to match. Everything about Pushy Cats evokes positive feelings, and it deserves praise for being such a feel-good experience. Despite the volatility and the payouts the game grants, it remains relaxing and cheerful.
It adds a modern twist or two to its features, but as for audio-visual presentation, it goes for retro and pulls it off. One of those games that everyone can enjoy will likely become a small-time fan favorite.
The action occurs on a 5×3 grid with twenty paylines. There are four low-pay and four regular premium symbols. The lower end of the paytable belongs to royals (J-A), awarding you 2-5x the stake for a five-of-a-kind win.
Moreover, the higher end contains double fish, a large fish, meat and a bell, granting you 10-25x the bet for five in a string.
The wide-eyed Cat is a Wild symbol that can replace all the regulars and serve as a Bonus activator. However, there is also the Bonus symbol. Land three to five matching symbols on a payline to score a win.
In-game features
The features start with the Wild symbol, for if you land it, you receive a Sticky Wild Respin. The feline friend remains in place as the other symbols spin again.
Naturally, if you land another Wild on a respin, the process repeats. The procedure goes on until there are no Wilds in view or you hit three of them anywhere on the reels.
Pushy Cat Free Spins
The game has a modern twist or two, meaning it has no conventional Free Spins round. However, there is a Bonus game that you can activate in two ways. If you land three Wilds in the base game, the game is triggered with a randomly assigned level one, two or three.
You can also gamble your way to the third level if you feel lucky. Higher levels imply more modifying Bouncers and fewer Vortex symbols.
Furthermore, every level has a Multiplier that enhances every win by x1, with the triggering Wild moving to an adjacent position between the spins.
It is also possible to activate the game by collecting ten Bonus symbols in the base game. Every icon you gather decreases the cost of the Bonus buy.
The feature in question has two options, the game with a random level worth 100x the bet or the maximum level Bonus game. The Golden Bet is worth an extra 25% per spin, and it improves the chance of landing Wilds.
A border of Bouncer symbols surrounds the board in the Bonus game. Vortex symbols swallow the Wilds when they walk on them, while the modifying Bouncer icons trigger various features.
They include the Multiplier Bouncer (adding x1, x2, x3 or x5 to the Multiplier) and the Coins Bouncer (grants 20, 50, 100 or 1,000 coins).
Additionally, the U-Turn Bouncer returns the Wild onto the reels, and Extra Wild adds one or two Wilds to the round. Finally, Level Up increases the level and replaces Vortexes with Bouncers.

RTP, bet sizes and volatility
The default RTP is 96%, which matches the industry standard. With the hit frequency of 20%, every fifth spin wins.
There are numerous betting options, going from $0.20 to $100. You can set the game parameters in the menu and adjust the values to suit your budget. It is possible to choose an infinite number of autospins.
The game is highly volatile, meaning the winnings will be less frequent but more lucrative. Given the broad betting scope, the game appeals to daredevils and safe players alike. We think it is worth the risk with a hefty maximum win of 20,000x the stake.

Yggdrasil has created a game that successfully blends the retro 90s design with features that have a modern feel. It is a clever mixture of nostalgia done right, decent payouts, and innovative features.
The provider has intended to create an unassuming feel-good slot game that will remind players of better times. If you are lucky, you may land big wins, too. We rate it 4 out of 5 stars.
