Almighty Gods Review
We return to ancient Greece once more with Blueprint’s Almighty Gods. The online slot, like many others before it, gives us a glimpse as to what life was like in those times.
The game seeks to put its own spin on the book of mechanic many of us are familiar with. Will it succeed in doing so, or will it disappear when faced against more interesting titles?
- Medium variance, 5000x jackpot
- Premium Play bonus
- Book of mechanics
While the book of mechanic craze has died down in recent years, it has not left us entirely. Software providers still occasionally create a release that uses these mechanics.
While there is nothing wrong with the concept, it has become a very competitive space. If Blueprint want Almighty Gods to stand out, they need to offer something different when it comes to special features.
With a 5000x maximum win and a medium variance, they are off to a good start.
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
Ancient Greece may be a familiar setting, but Blueprint do a good job bringing it to life. The background image is simple but pretty, depicting a mostly clear sky as the sun is slowly setting.
The blue-pink colours are interrupted occasionally by a cloud passing by. Activating special features changes the background.
The sky darkens, and orange flames turn a sinister shade of blue. Relatively minor changes, but their effect is immediate. All around fantastic work by the artist team.
You play this slot on a five-reel, three-row board with ten paylines. These paylines are fixed, meaning we cannot toggle them at will to change our total bet.
To win, land three or more matching symbols in adjacent positions, starting with the leftmost reel. Wins must follow an active payline, or the relevant cash prize will not be awarded.
In-game features
The Scatter and Wild are combined into one icon in this game. That makes it easier to activate the special feature and create extra winning combinations.
Almighty Gods Free Spins
Three, four or five Scatters appearing simultaneously grants ten free spins. Additional Scatters do not grant more free spins. Instead, they award a larger cash prize.
During free spins, one symbol is chosen randomly to become the expanding icon. This symbol will expand to cover all positions on the reel if it can form a win.
Expanding icons pay all ways and from any position, no longer having to follow paylines to form valid winning combinations.
During this bonus, additional Scatters can appear. Extra Scatters will award more free spins.
This allows you to extend how long the special feature lasts. There is no limit on how many times you can retrigger free spins.
Premium Play is an extra advantage high rollers get. Increasing your bet adds larger Scatters to the playing field.
Wager enough money, and you can have full reel Scatters appearing on all five reels. They can appear partially or completely in view, and make it easier to activate free spins.
While free spins are active, these expanded Scatters can also substitute for the expanded symbol.

RTP, bet sizes and volatility
The RTP for Almighty Gods is 95.19%. This is lower than the average slot RTP, which sits at 96%. It also means this game lags behind other titles using the Book of format.
Check out our list with the best RTP slots for some better alternatives.
You can bet between $0.10 and $10 on each spin. This is much lower than expected, but it works when considering the Premium Play feature.
Click or tap the bet circle to open a separate screen. Here, you can directly choose between all available wagers in this release. After selecting a bet, you can start spinning the reels.
Almighty Gods has a medium variance, which makes its sole special feature appear semi-frequently.
However, that does not make it easier to win the 5000x jackpot it offers! You will have to spend a fair amount of time spinning the reels if you hope to land that prize.

Verdict
When you put everything together, Blueprint’s slot is not bad. It is simply average. It looks good, but there are games that look better.
It has a below average RTP, which automatically makes it less attractive compared to competing titles. The sole addition to the Book of format is not enough to draw player attention.
As such, we ended up rating Almighty Gods with 3 out of 5 stars.
You would not have a bad time playing it. However, you would have more fun if you played a different slot instead.
