Ancient Eclipse Review
Are you a fan of ancient-themed slots? Hop on Ancient Eclipse to grasp the story of the Aztec god of the Sun and earn some exciting rewards on your journey!
Ancient Eclipse offers:
- Sticky Symbols
- Added Wilds
- Free Spins
Partners Yggdrasil Gaming and Bang Bang Games delivered Ancient Eclipse as a 5×4 grid with 50 pay lines. The online slot is pretty unique, as it offers exceptional quality graphics and sounds, paired with out-of-the-box extras.
The main focus is the Sun Frame, triggering the Collectable Sun Frames and Eclipse features. Players can benefit from transforming symbols into wilds, multipliers, and free spins.
In continuance, you can find a detailed review of the Ancient Eclipse slot.
Themes, Graphics, and Sounds
Ancient Eclipse features a mysterious Mayan theme in bright, appealing colors. You can find a dense jungle in the background and hear a rhythmical, drum-heavy soundtrack.
The reels are set on a stone building. The low-yielding symbols consist of classic card suits or blue clubs, green diamonds, red hearts, and purple spades.
The crocodile, tiger, eagle, and two ancient gods, in turn, represent the premiums. You can earn up to 1.3x, 3x, or 5x your stake for a combination of 3, 4, or 5 deities with red gemstone eyes, respectively.
The gold sun represents the wild which can substitute for all symbols, except the moon, and scatter, to form wins. It can also award you 10x your stake for a pay line on its own.
In-game Features
The main focus in Ancient Eclipse is the Sun Frame. It appears in a particular position on the reels and remains as such over multiple spins.
If you land regulars within or outside the frame, nothing changes. However, if you land the moon icon outside the Sun Frame, you will keep collecting Sun Frames.
If you land a moon icon within the sun frame, you will activate the Wild Eclipse feature. It transforms the frame and moons into wilds, granting you a significant payout consideration.
Your reward will further increase if you have stacked more than one sun frame on the screen.
What’s more, this feature can grant you a multiplier proportionally aligned with the number of symbols used to trigger the feature.
For example, two moon icons within the sun frame will award you a 2x, doubling your earnings.
Once you collect the prize from the Eclipse feature, the slot will remove all sticky sun frames from the screen. Then, you will start from scratch and can repeat the process multiple times.
Ancient Eclipse Free Spins
The feathered headdress represents the scatter, appearing exclusively on the three middle reels. If you land three such symbols on a single spin, you will trigger the Locked Frames Free Spins feature.
Initially, you will get 12 free spins. If you have wilds on the screen, they will form sticky suns on the next spin.
What’s more, they will remain in place during the entire round and after you finish it. You can also extend the Free Spins. If you land the moon outside the sun frame, the slot will add an additional spin to your balance.

Verdict
Undoubtedly, Ancient Eclipse is a uniquely designed slot with great potential. We are used to seeing wilds, multipliers, and re-triggerable free spins.
However, the developers combined all standards with a twist of mystery. The slot’s theme is engaging, which goes incredibly well with the sticky sun frame granting rewards subject to a multiplier.
You might wait a while for an eclipse. However, once triggered, the added wilds make the wait worthwhile.
Overall, we give this game 3 out of 5 stars.
