Dr Toonz Review
Paging Dr Toonz, we need a cure for boredom ASAP. His prescription? A slot based in Play ’n Go’s Toonzverse, which also features the popular Reactoonz games.
Of course, he is a scientific doctor instead of a medical one. As such, some might think he is not qualified to give such a diagnosis.
Fortunately enough, it is easy enough to see if the brilliant doctor is right or not. We will try the cure ourselves! Will this release fix your boredom, or will it make it worse?
- Highly volatilite with a 22,000x jackpot
- Up to 262,144 ways to win thanks to dynamic payways
- Available bonuses include cascading reels, the Quantumeter, and free spins
What lies in the lab a brilliant scientist? While many mighty minds chase important answers, Dr Toonz is hard at work to solve the problem of boredom.
His solution pairs the popular Reactoonz aliens with numerous special features. Some are easy to understand, like cascading reels and free spins.
Others like the Quantumeter contain several features, which adds to the game’s winning potential. If you dare test your mettle against this highly volatile release, you could win up to 22,000x your total stake.
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
Almost everyone that played Reactoonz ended up loving it. It was so popular that the game ended up getting a sequel.
However, neither game showed us where these various aliens came from. Now, we have the answer. They were actually a product of Dr Toonz and his testing!
It adds a nice bit of continuity to the mix. The visuals are fantastic, and we would expect nothing less from Play’n GO.
You play this slot on a six-reel board with dynamic payways. Each round starts with 4096 ways to win, but it can increase up to 262,144 ways to win.
Wins are awarded by finding three or more matching symbols in adjacent positions.
Winning combinations have to start with the leftmost reel and must follow one of the currently active ways to win. If all these conditions are met, you receive the appropriate cash prize.
In-game features
Every game round benefits from the inclusion of cascading reels, which are a Reactoonz staple. Winning icons disappear from the board, leaving behind empty spaces.
Existing symbols will fall down, filling any empty positions. At the same time, a brand new symbol appears on top of the board. This special feature allows players to win multiple times with a single bet.
Each time the reels cascade, the Quantumeter fills up by one charge. The meter consists of three charges, so you need three consecutive cascades to activate a bonus.
The Quantumeter activates its special feature when the cascade ends, adding a beneficial effect to the player. Each bonus gives you another chance to extend the cascade, which will allow you to win big with some luck.
Every spin has a chance of making a 2x symbol appear above all five reels. If this icon is present above a reel, the number of ways to win for that reel are doubled. To achieve the maximum 262,144 ways to win, you need this to affect all five reels
Dr Toonz Free Spins
Land three or more double helix Scatters to unlock free spins. Three, four, five or six Scatters grant ten, fifteen, twenty and twenty-five free spins, respectively.
The Quantumeter bonus starts with one or two charges already active if triggered during free spins. Cascading reels are also in effect during this special feature, which means free spins last longer than usual.

Verdict
Highly volatile games are not everyone’s cup of tea. If you like them, then this game will be an absolute blast to play.
The variety of special features is fantastic and is the primary reason we fell in love with this title. The top prize is also incredible.
The title also gives us the origin story of Reactoonz, which is a cherry on top of an already delicious cake. As such, we rate this boredom-curing release 5 out of 5 stars.
