Infectious 5 xWays Review
Who does not love a good supervillain story? Riding on the back of Marvel’s success, many software providers have decided to embrace superhero stories for their slots. Nolimit City is no exception.
It shows us a grim future where a group of powerful villains has brought society to ruin with their evil powers. Will you join their side or try and stand up to the Infectious 5?
- Highly volatile with a 55,555x jackpot
- Pick your Infectious Spins feature
- xWays expanding symbols
The end of the world makes for an interesting setting. We have seen it done in multiple ways. However, not many developers have given their online slot such a clear supervillain theme as Nolimit City has.
Their power is seductive, capable of awarding jackpots up to 55,555x your total stake! If you can handle the high variance, then this release has plenty to offer you. xWays and three types of Infectious spins will help you reach the top prize.
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
Hats off to the artist team. Their talent brings this theme to life in the form of both background images and additional little details.
Each supervillain has their own little blurb explaining their way of thinking in a quote.
Additionally, you can see the wreckage of civilization in the background. A ruined landscape, with burning fires as far as the eye can see.
You play Infectious 5 xWays on a five-reel, four-row board with 1024 ways to win. Thanks to one of the special features, the number of ways to win can increase up to 110,592 win ways.
Find at least three matching icons in adjacent positions to form a winning combination. Wins must also start with the leftmost reel, or the relevant cash prize will not be paid.
In-game features
xWays icons will transform into any other symbol when it lands. The only icons it cannot transform into are Wilds or bonus symbols.
xWay icons reveal two or three symbols of the same kind and expand the reel height. If a Wild and an xWay icon land together, an Infectious xWay activates.
Infectious xWay symbols infect all other identical icons on the reel area, making them expand to the same size.
Find three or more bonus symbols to activate Infectious Spins. Players can choose between Toxic Hazard and Lock n’ Load mode.
If you land five bonus icons, you unlock Mayhem Mode. Collecting additional bonus symbols during bonus modes can also upgrade them to Mayhem Mode.
Toxic Hazard grants nine Infectious Spins. During this bonus, up to five random Wilds will appear on reels two, three, and four.
It will also guarantee Infectious xWays, whenever an xWays icon lands. While the bonus is active, Infectious xWays will only display super villain symbols: Mindflayer, Torch, Misery, Toxicity, and Havoc.
Lock n’ Load awards seven Infectious Spins. Wilds that land on the middle three reels become sticky, staying in position until the special feature ends.
Those sticky Wilds may also receive a 2x or 3x multiplier. During Lock n’ Load mode, Infectious xWays are guaranteed, as one Wild will land on the first spin.
Additional Wilds will each grant an extra free spin. Infectious xWays will also only display the five super villain symbols.
Mayhem Mode turns Mindflayer, Torch, Misery, Toxicity, and Havoc into one golden Infectious 5 icon. Any Infectious xWays that appear during this mode will only reveal that symbol.
Activating this bonus from Toxic Hazard awards twelve Infectious Spins. Triggering it from Lock n’ Load grants ten Infectious Spins.
You can also buy bonus to activate all three of the bonus rounds for 75x to 555x your bet.

RTP, bet sizes and volatility
The slot has an RTP of 96.02%. This is above the current industry standard, which sits at 96%.
You can bet between $0.20 and $50 on each spin.
Do not take the high volatility this release offers lightly. The possibility of winning the huge 55,555x jackpot is certainly there, but it is not easy.
Still, dedicated players will eventually snag themselves a solid prize with enough persistence.

Verdict
Infectious 5 xWays is a slot for every high variance fan out there. The promise of a 55,555x jackpot is too good to pass up, especially when you pair it with three types of free spins and expanding reels!
It was fun to play, and its supervillain theme looks incredible. Nolimit City has thoroughly impressed us recently, and this game continues that trend.
We rate the release 5 out of 5 stars.
