Nitropolis 2 Review
Most of the time, online slot sequels take their time in coming out. However, ELK Studios clearly do not mind breaking a few rules if it means launching Nitropolis 2!
That said, we are not sure if such rule breaking is wise while Sergeant Nitro Wolf is on the prowl. He sent the Rouge Rats to the slammer, and now he is ready to take on Nitropolis’ other three gangs.
Are you brave enough to take on the criminals and help his cause?
- High variance with 10,000x jackpot
- Fantastic Cyberpunk theme and visuals
- Up to 191,102,976 ways to win. That is not a typo.
The original casino game was gorgeous in its own way. However, this release kicks it up a notch. One glance at the background shows you the perfect blend of high-tech and run down.
Nitropolis 2 cares for no rules but its own; something that is reflected in its gameplay, as well. After all, what other slot would be quite so crazy as to offer up to 191,102,976 ways to win?
You can expect a fantastic set of special features, which pair perfectly with its high variance and 10,000x top prize.
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
Dystopian future settings seem to be all the rage in the last couple of years. The game plays heavily into that with the way its designed.
You see fantastic vistas of high tech towers and enormous buildings all around you. At the same time, right next to the reels, there is a sign.
One that tells people not to let their pets go number two on the street. Right next to that sign is a dog… doing just that. Thankfully censored! Still, what a simple way to illustrate how little Nitropolis cares for rules.
You play this release on a six-reel, four-row board with 4096 ways to win. However, thanks to available special features, that number can be increased up to 191,102,976 ways to win.
Wins are formed by landing three or more identical symbols in adjacent positions. Unlike most slots, Nitropolis 2 can usually only form winning combinations left-to-right.
However, bonuses can also land wins right-to-left. This makes it easier to score cash prizes.
In-game features
So, how do you unlock all those extra ways to win? The answer is Nitro Reels! They cover two icon positions when they land.
However, each Nitro Reel contains between four to twelve symbols. This increases the number of ways to win.
To reach the maximum number of ways to win, you need twenty-four icons per reel. Is it difficult to achieve? Very! Does it feel amazing when you eventually land it? Absolutely!
All non-winning spins become sticky after each win, while winning positions spin again. This includes symbols found on Nitro Reels.
There is no limit on how many times re-spins can be played. If you keep winning, you will keep activating re-spins.
Above the reels is the new Nitro Booster feature reel. Special feature icons will appear in the reel, activating a modifier.
This modifier lasts for one spin, and applies for the reel beneath the feature symbol.
- Nitro Wild – Any Nitro Reels that appear below will display only Wilds
- All Wild – Sticky Nitro Reels and new Nitro Reels will only contain Wilds
- All Premium – All Nitro Reels that land will be comprised of premium icons
- Nitro Upgrade – Extra symbols are added to Nitro Reels that do not have twelve icons
- All Match – Symbols in all Nitro Reels will transform to match the icons in the leftmost Nitro Reel
- Re-spin – A re-spin is played with all Nitro Reels and bonus symbols becoming sticky
- Pay both ways – ways to win function both ways
Nitropolis 2 Free Spins
Three, four, five or six scatters grant ten, fifteen, twenty or twenty-five free spins, respectively. The aforementioned modifiers and Nitro Reels function almost identically during this bonus.
Free spins improve them by making all Nitro Reels lock in place while the special feature is active. On top of all that, free spins can also be retriggered!
ELK Studios thought ahead for players who do not want to wait to activate the game’s special features. The X-iter menu allows you to buy five different feature options.
- 5x your wager buys a guaranteed win spin
- 25x your stake grants three spins with either a feature or bonus symbol on every position on the top reel
- 100x your bet guarantees three Scatters on the next spin, meaning you will win ten free spins
- 200x your wager activates fifteen free spins by landing four Scatters
- 500x your stake grants ten free spins with twelve Nitro Reels. This is the maximum number of Nitro Reels possible

Verdict
The best way to make a sequel is to lean into what made the original so great. That is exactly what ELK Studios have done with this slot.
The gameplay will feel familiar to Nitropolis fans. However, this game offers its own set of special features. The ability to unlock so many ways to win is incredibly fun.
The only complaint we have is the slightly below average RTP. Everything else is fantastic.
That is why we rate this release 4 out of 5 stars. Now if you will excuse us, we have some hostile gangs to clean up.
