Solar Nova Review
Are you ready for the Space journey of your lives? Iron Dog Studio left their comfort zone and Earth too. Join them in Outerspace and win up to a fantastic 10,000x the total stake!
Solar Nova Offers:
- Free Spins
- Bonus Buy
- Win Multipliers
Solar Nova is a 9×9 grid online slot with a cluster pays system. The whole grid holds 81 symbols. You can create a win by landing a combination of 6 or more matching symbols, vertically or horizontally.
Iron Dog Studio developed gameplay with plenty of features, such as Tumble reels, Free Spins, Rocket Wilds, Solar Flare, and more. Some of these features are accompanied by win multipliers, which boost your cash prize even more.
Solar Nova also comes with a superb theme and graphics. If you are willing to learn more about this slot, read our in-depth review below.
Themes, Graphics, and Sounds
Iron Dog Studios stepped out of their comfort zone and delivered a Space-themed slot. That change is a bit unusual for them, but they did great. The graphics might give you a feel like you’re playing some Windows game.
As you expect, behind the reels, you will see a bright pink planet and a navy-purple sky full of stars. Interestingly, there is a Wild symbol in the center of the grid, and the other 80 symbols fall around it.
There are a bunch of symbols on the grid that boost your cash prize. More specifically, the players benefit from seven different gem types.
A cluster of more than 25 symbols is worth it, between 10 and 80x the stake. Besides the Solar Wild in the middle of the grid, a Wild Rocket symbol also appears randomly and substitutes the regular paying symbols.
In-Game Features
Solar Nova comes with five different features from which the players can benefit. The Tumble feature, Solar Flare, Rocket Wilds, Free Spins, and the Bonus Buy feature lead you to the incredible win of 10,000x your stake.
Many of you are already familiar with the Tumble feature. This feature removes the symbols from the winning clusters and allows new ones to drop on the grid.
The feature goes on until there are no more winning combinations. Next is the Solar Flare feature, whose Solar Wild transforms random symbols from a row or column in the same symbol.
This unique feature can also trigger during the Free Spins. When we mention the Rocket Wild symbol, we must say a word or two about the Rocket Wilds feature.
The Tumble feature doesn’t remove the Rocket Wild; it moves to another adjacent position. These Wilds come with a multiplier attached to them, and it increases by one when used in a winning combo.
What’s unexpected, another feature, Symbol Teleportation, can trigger during the Rocket Wilds feature. The Rocket Wild changes its place with a regular paying symbol when this feature starts.
Due to this, the players have a bigger chance of a win. Lastly, if you manage to land a cluster pay with more than one Rocket Wild, their multiplier values multiply and are then applied to the total win.
Solar Nova Free Spins
The Free Spins game triggers when 3 Rocket Wilds land during the base game. Afterward, the players receive 6 Free Spins, and the Wilds stay on the reels by moving positions.
The multiplier values also increase by one if they are used in a win, and the maximum number of Rocket Wilds that can land simultaneously is four.
Another exciting thing is that the Solar Wild triggers the Solar Nova feature if it is used in 8 wins. When the Solar Nova feature triggers, the grid alters in size 3×3 but for only one tumble.
If you don’t want to wait for the Free Spins feature, Iron Dog Studios added a Bonus Buy feature to the slot. There is a slight difference in this Bonus Buy from the basic one.
You can choose whether you want to play a Free Spins game with 3, 4, or 5 Rocket Wilds for the prize of 90, 250, or 500x the bet, respectively.

RTP, Bet Sizes, and Volatility
Iron Dog Studios delivered a highly volatile slot with an average RTP of 96% to the slots industry.
The RTP stays the same, whether you play regularly or buy the Free Spins Bonus round. You can win the 10,000x the stake for a minimum of $0.10 or a maximum of $50 per spin.
Verdict
Solar Nova is one pretty unique slot that comes with many rewarding features, which boost your cash prize up to 10,000x the total stake.
You would enjoy the Rocket Wilds, and the Free Spins features as they bring the most excitement to the gameplay.
However, that doesn’t mean that the other features aren’t good either. Overall, Solar Nova is a great newbie to the slots industry. We give this game 4 out of 5 stars.
