Up4Timer Review
Many developers follow the trend of creating games that remind us of the classic titles of yesteryear. Fruit symbols, a few paylines, and straightforward gameplay without complex features still pack a punch today. It is always lovely to walk down memory lane and enjoy good, old one-armed bandits like in 1985.
The guys from Stakelogic have released Up4Timer, the fourth title in the series that brings back retro slots. They cannot make you financially independent, for they provide pretty measly winnings but deliver a magnificent playing experience.
Up4Timer is like that, a thoroughly entertaining game that offers loads of fun and is fantastic for casual players.
- Low-medium volatility game with a maximum win of 64x the stake
- Five to twenty paylines
- Game Select, Gamble, Super Stake, Joker Symbol, and other surprises
It is not easy to talk about the visuals when the online slot is so basic, but Up4Timer has a good audio-visual presentation. It is as appealing as they get, bringing players back to childhood and boasting well-designed fruit symbols.
The sounds are what you would expect from a classic-type slot, with many jingling involved. This time-killer has its charms and provides a lot of fun if you do not take it too seriously.
It has a few attractive features, including different games that give a different number of reels. Still, the maximum win of 64x the stake reminds us of the ultimate purpose of these slots.
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
Graphics-wise, Up4Timer is extremely eye-pleasing, offering the appearance of old-time slots with nicely animated fruit symbols. You know what to expect from such releases, and this one duly delivers.
The soundtrack is also an expected mix of familiar effects that remind punters what kind of game they play. Everything in the audio-visual department is well-known, and that is OK if you come for a bit of old-fashioned fun.
Stakelogic did not go for innovation, but there are a few pleasant surprises for players unfamiliar with retro slot games. Nobody will get rich playing Up4Timer, but a good time is guaranteed.
Depending on the game, you can play with a various number of reels and paylines. The icons are similar to the rest of the games in the series.
The low-tier end of the paytable belongs to Oranges, Plums, Pears, and Lemons, all awarding 8x the bet for a three-of-a-kind win. However, it is a payment per game; hence it will be 2x the stake if all games are activated.
The high-end symbols include Raspberries, Sevens, Watermelons, and Crowns, granting you 16x the bet for a single game. The Joker in the Super Stake mode pays up to 40x the bet.
Wilds and Scatters are things of the future, so they do not exist in this game. However, there are enough features to keep you thoroughly entertained.
In-game features
Before punters start spinning, they must determine the number of reels to play on. The stake is multiplied by the number of games you play (the maximum being four), so a $0.2 bet will cost $0.8 for all the games.
Pick the game to determine the number of reels (three, four, five, or six) and paylines (five, ten, fifteen, or twenty).
The Gamble feature lets you double your winnings if you guess correctly between a Star and a Seven. Then you can choose to gamble again or collect your winnings. If you make a mistake, you will lose what you have won.
If all four games are active, you can activate Super Stake and enhance your winning chances. Super Stake introduces a new symbol, the Red and Green Joker.
He pays a mystery prize each time he appears on the grid. One pays 2x, but they will bring you 40x the bet if you collect three of them.
Furthermore, if the Joker turns up next to another fruit icon, it becomes a double symbol. Any combination of three double symbols carries a special Joker prize. Double icons can also make winning combos with other fruits.
Up4Timer Free Spins
Since this game is as retro as they get, you will not have the opportunity to play any Bonus rounds or games. Simple, straightforward gameplay without complex features and other games is all you get.
You know what to expect from the beginning, so it is OK. Of course, it would be much better if there was a Bonus round to increase a mediocre winning potential. As they say, you cannot have it all, so great entertainment without handsome payouts will have to do.

RTP, bet sizes and volatility
The RTP value the game provides amounts to 95%, going below the industry standard. The hit frequency has not been announced yet, but we can assume it will be more than reasonable, given the other relevant parameters.
The betting range is out of this world, with the lowest bet you can place at $0.20 and the highest wager at a whopping $800. The game is bound to attract high rollers and casual players alike, although many will be turned off by thin winning potential.
The volatility varies between low and medium, balancing the amounts and intervals. There will not be many thrilling and adrenaline-rushing moments for sure, but there will be many entertaining ones.

Verdict
If you love classic slot games and do not expect too much finance-wise, you can try Up4Timer and have fun with it. It is developed to help you kill some time, and it does that, but not much more.
Unfortunately, the maximum win of 64x the stake also kills excitement and tension. It has its charms and is not uninteresting, but it is bound to arouse little interest from most punters. Our rating is 3 out of 5 stars.
