Valhalla Saga Thunder of Thor Review
If you regularly play online slots, you’ve probably by now checked out a release inspired by Norse mythology. One of the famous characters you may stumble upon while enjoying such games is Thor.
When not feasting and drinking, he fights against his foes with the help of Mjolnir. Once again, it’s time to join Thor on one of his epic quests in the slot titled Valhalla Saga Thunder of Thor. And believe us, you won’t regret doing it.
- High volatility with a jackpot of 10,000 times the bet
- Thirty fixed paylines
- Thunder of Thor awaits in the base game, Thor Free Spins and the PowerLinks feature, as well as four fixed jackpots
The guys from Yggdrasil Gaming and an independent game studio Jelly joined forces to bring us this exciting release, boasting stunning looks, immersive gameplay, and plenty of ways to claim cash prizes.
In addition to the randomly triggered feature in the main game, the game offers a bonus round, a bonus respin, and a bonus buy option. The latter will be available in some jurisdictions. The maximum payout is worth 10,000 the bet, which is a suitable prize for keeping Thor company on his journey.
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
Yggdrasil Gaming and its partner made the most out of the popular theme. Everything is meticulously designed, from the reels to the background imagery and the game symbols. As soon as this epic adventure begins, we’re sure you’ll be captivated by the casino game’s looks and feel.
Playable across all platforms, Valhalla Saga Thunder of Thor takes place on a standard five-reel, three-row grid with thirty fixed paylines. It means you won’t be able to choose the number of active lines.
You’ll need to land three or more matching symbols to create a win. Regulars pay from ten to twenty-five times your stake. Mjolnir serves as the Wild, helping players complete wins by replacing other icons, while Scatters are your key to unlocking the bonus round.
In-game features
The Thunder of Thor feature can be randomly triggered in the base game. Whenever it’s activated, additional Wilds are added to the reels, with multipliers ranging from 2x to 100x. There’s no guaranteed win, and Wild multipliers may only be applied once on a payline.
Five Scatters are needed to unlock the Free Spins round. But if you land four or them, a bonus respin will be triggered, respinning the remaining reel to give players the chance to enter the bonus.
Valhalla Saga Thunder of Thor Free Spins
As we previously mentioned, five or more Scatters trigger the bonus round, while players receive five free spins. Wooden frames known as PowerLinks will appear on the reels, marking the positions where the triggering Scatters landed. This will also happen whenever additional Scatters appear during the round.
If Scatters land in a position with a wooden frame, it will be upgraded to Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Fire Frame. Once the round ends, each position will receive a bet multiplier or one of four fixed jackpots.
- Wood awards a bet multiplier of up to 5x
- Bronze awards a bet multiplier of up to 20x or Mini Jackpot
- Silver awards a bet multiplier of up to 75x or Minor Jackpot
- Gold awards a bet multiplier of up to 200x or Major Jackpot
- Bronze awards a bet multiplier of up to 750x or Mega Jackpot
The bonus buy option is available in certain jurisdictions. Access to the Free Spins round costs sixty times the total wager.

Verdict
Valhalla Saga Thunder of Thor is an entertaining game, although it may not impress you like other similarly-themed releases. When it comes to winning, it’s all about the bonus game and the PowerLinks system.
The random prizes add to the excitement, particularly as players don’t know what’s coming next. The maximum payout of 10,000 times your bet sounds appealing. You can look forward to lots of thrill, and chances to win. We rate it 3 out of 5 stars.
