As the number of symbols connected horizontally or vertically increases, so does your payout. Even so, each cluster, from 6 to 42 symbols, provides a different payout.
You can also land more than one cluster at the same time, further increasing your gain. The most you can earn is 500x to 800x for a combination of 42 premiums.
In-game Features
Viking Runes provides two types of wilds. The regular wild can substitute for all other symbols to form winning combinations. The other one is the Lightning wild, explained below.
Each time you land a winning cluster, you will trigger the Cascading Reels feature. It removes the matching symbols from the reels and drops new ones to replace them.
If you land another winning combination, the slot will repeat the process. The cascades will follow until you land an unsuccessful spin.
Each cascade brings one Lightning wild in a random, changing position on the reels. In the base game, you can land up to four such symbols.
However, each unsuccessful spin removes the wilds from the screen. So, once again, you will need to start from zero.
You can also randomly add three to nine wild symbols to random positions on the reels. Known as the Viking Sorcery, this feature will increase your reward due to the extra wilds in both rounds.
Any unsuccessful spin in both the base game and during free spins can trigger the Runic Shuffle feature. As the name implies, it shuffles the symbols on the grid to create new combinations, guaranteeing at least one winning cluster.
Finally, the slot offers the Spell of Ancestors feature in both the base game and free spins. It transforms all lower value symbols into the red rune stone. This, in turn, increases the payout consideration.
Viking Runes Free Spins
If you land at least five consecutive cascades, you will trigger the feature and get six Free Spins. In this round, there are four active Lightning wilds with attached progressive multipliers.
More precisely, each cascade during Free Spins increases the multiplier by one. What’s more, an unsuccessful spin doesn’t decrease or reset the multiplier.
So, it can only go up during this round. However, you cannot retrigger the Free Spins.
