San Quentin xWays Review
Few names can evoke the same feeling of fear as San Quentin can. It is an infamous US prison, home to the most dangerous criminals.
Only the toughest can survive within its walls. Do you have what it takes to form your crew and become San Quentin’s underground king?
- Incredible 150,000x maximum win!
- Buy your way to the free spins with the bonus buy feature
- Fantastic graphics and animations
There are some places in the world you do not want to be in. San Quentin prison is one of those places. It is home to the most violent and dangerous criminals in the United States.
Nolimit City was looking for a high stakes location to match the highly volatile online slot they were making. They could not have picked a better spot.
Available bonuses include enhancer cells, split Wilds and lockdown spins with jumping Wilds.
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
Prison is not a good place to be, and the visuals do not sugar coat this fact. Players will immediately notice how high security this place is.
The concrete walls are massive, and have barbed wire on top of them. Cameras are all over the place, recording every move you make. Guards sit in their towers, carefully watch for any signs of trouble.
Even the sky is gray and depressing. This game makes the drab reality of San Quentin prison obvious.
You play this release on a five-reel, three-row board. San Quentin xWays has 243 ways to win standard.
However, when a split Wild appears on the board, the number of ways to win increases drastically!
Landing wins is simpler than with standard paylines. You need three or more identical symbols next to one another, which start with the leftmost reel. You do not have to follow a set payline in order to earn a win!
In-game features
Split Wilds can appear in any position on the playing field. When they land, all icons above and below them are split in half.
This doubles how many symbols are on that particular reel and increases the number of ways to win.
Above and below the playing field are Enhancer Cell positions. These can be randomly opened, revealing some kind of bonus.
This special feature can grant a high value icon, Razor Splits or an xWay symbol. Razor Splits doubles all symbols on its reel. xWay icons all reveal the same pay symbol stacked on its reel.
Land three or more Scatters to win the free spins round. Three, four or five Scatters unlock one, two or three jumping Wilds.
These Wilds are only active during free spins. Enhancer Cells will be opened on reels the Scatters have landed on. Any additional Scatters that land will turn Wild, and unlock other Enhancer Cells
The number of opened Enhancer Cells determines the number of free spins. Each cell can grant up to three free spins. The free spins from all cells are then added together to grant the number of free spins.
Jumping Wilds can substitute for standard icons and they can move into random positions on each spin.
On top of that, they also have a multiplier attached to them. This multiplier can be increased up to 512x by landing on Razor Split symbols!
Players can also buy Lockdown Spins. Lockdown Spins with one, two or three jumping Wilds will cost you 100x, 400x and 2000x respectively. Talk about pricey!
