Sweet Bonanza Review

If you’re in the mood for some fruit and candy, read our Sweet Bonanza review to learn about all its tasty treats.

Theme, Graphics and Sounds

Sweet Bonanza takes place in a fantastical realm of sweets. The background is a series of rolling hills of ice cream, custard, and frosting.

You can tell Pragmatic Play went all out when designing this slot, too. Just about every element of the background has something extra going on.

The fluffy clouds in the bright blue sky lazily float on by. Glowing animations constantly draw your attention to the background image and its various yummy elements.

The game’s music matches the sickly sweet environment, and we’re thankful for the mute button. Each spin increases the music speed and wins come with a lot of fanfare.

When the reels aren’t moving, the music is delightful and jolly.

Sweet Bonanza Pay Table

You’ll find heart-shaped, concave square, pentagon, and soft-edged rectangle candies at the higher end. The fruit at the lower end includes classic symbols like an apple, a plum, a watermelon, grapes, and a banana.

When three swirly lollipops drop, you activate the free spin feature. Once they start, the reels drop multiplier bombs and increased candy pops.

The gameplay is straightforward and easily understood. The symbols disappear when you have 8 or more of the same symbol. Existing icons fall to fill in the empty spaces, making room for new symbols. New icons then drop to fill in any open spaces.

In-Game features

This online slot isn’t only cute to play, but the rewards are also tasty.

The unique spin feature offers multipliers that can stack up to x21,175. It’s laid in a 5×6 grid and has 20 fixed pay lines, where your snacks drop.

Hit more candy and benefit in the tumbling feature, or buy high multipliers from the free spins feature, and you can claim possible glory.

Tumble Feature

Reminiscent of many mobile games, this feature allows you to keep playing if you match symbols. Icons that were part of the win disappear from the playing field. The remaining symbols fall into the left-behind spaces while brand new ones appear from the top.

Tumbles can continue until you stop making combinations. Thanks to that, casino members can score multiple wins at the cost of a single spin. When your spin is over, the game adds everything together for a big win.

Ante Bet Feature

Sweet Bonanza lets you choose a bet multiplier so that you can decide your stakes early on. You can select between a 20x and 25x multiplier, which will change the game experience.

If you choose 25x, there’s a higher chance for free spins to drop. With the 20x bet multiplier, you have the option to buy the free spins feature for 100 times your initial stake.

Select the 25x bet multiplier and more scatter symbols are added to the reels and which doubles your chances of activating the free spins feature. That improves your odds of landing an impressive win through a bonus if you can stomach the increase to your total bet.

Bonus Buy Option

At the price of 100x your wager, you can buy ten free spins and start the mini-game.

Multipliers could skyrocket your earnings to more than 100x the cost of your wager. Don’t forget, though, the chances also exist for you to hit nothing.

Sweet Bonanza Free Spins

If you land more than four scatter symbols or purchase spins, you’ll start with at least ten free spins. During the feature, if you land three or more lollipops, you earn five extra spins.

While free spins are active, players can find multiplier bombs on the playing field. Each time one such bomb lands, it is assigned a random multiplier. Said multiplier can range between 2x and 100x.

The values of all multiplier bombs are added together when all the tumbles for that particular free spin end. The game then multiplies the total win of that sequence by the final multiplier value.

When multiplier bombs appear on any of the reels, and you make winning combinations, they explode. The more bombs you detonate, the higher your multiplier, and the bigger your win.

The scatter symbol that looks like a swirly lollipop is the Candy Queen. If it lands on 6 of the reels, you get a multiplier of 10x and a retrigger of the free spins round.

RTP, Bet Sizes, and Volatility

Sweet Bonanza offers an RTP of between 96.48% and 96.51%, and high volatility. This RTP value places this slot comfortably above most online slots, whose average RTP sits around 96%.

Fair and consistent wins let players enjoy the game without feeling like they’re throwing money down the drain.

A minimum bet of $0.20 and a maximum of $100 is inclusive for any player. Your minimum and maximum wagers change if you turn on the Ante Bet feature. Your minimum stake becomes $0.25, while the maximum increases to $125.

The sweet smell of victory will hit you when you hit a 200x, 300x, or 21,000x multiplier streak is such a big part of the game, and you could win over $2,637,500!

Verdict

We thought that Sweet Bonanza is a real treat for the sweet tooth. The interface is easy to navigate, and it offers cute graphics. While the sound can sometimes be a bit overwhelming, they have the option to turn it off.

You’ll probably see your balance drop before you score big, owing to the title’s high volatility. Fortunately, the free spin rounds often compensate for the losses.

The high return to player gives you plenty of chances to score some solid wins. That said, we advise those looking to win big bucks to stay clear.

While the high variance is fun to play with, it will not appeal to all players. The casino game can also take a while before you land any wins. Tumbles and special features help mitigate that problem, but it can still crop up.

Even with these few stumbling blocks, we had a lot of fun. As such, Pragmatic Play Sweet Bonanza gets 4 out of 5 stars.
