Hyper Strike Review
Leave behind complex stories and return to the bright lights of traditional slots. Hyper Strike’s dazzling visuals and fun gameplay are eye-catching, but is it enough to draw players in?
- Gorgeous background image
- Medium variance with 2000x jackpot
- Simple and entertaining gameplay
Some games can offer us complex and interesting worlds. Some even have a full page in the paytable just to explain its story (we’re looking at you, Halloween Jack).
Interesting stories and settings help, but they are not necessary. If you can make an entertaining online slot with dazzling visuals, even the simplest themes work.
Available special features include Hyper Strike Scatters and free spins.
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
One glance is enough to show Microgaming and Gameburger Studios took inspiration from classic slots.
Fruits, lucky sevens, golden bells… all the familiar symbol designs are there. The game benefits heavily from modern visuals and incredible animations.
Getting a big win results in the reels zooming out. This gives you an even better view of the colourful background with added win effects to celebrate.
All the action takes place on a five-reel, three-row playing field. The board has twenty paylines, which are fixed and cannot be turned off.
To win, you need at least three identical icons to appear next to one another and to follow a payline.
Provided the winning combination starts with the leftmost reel, it will grant a cash prize. Nothing ground breaking as far as scoring wins goes.
In-game features
The same can be said about Hyper Strike’s two special features.
This release has two bonuses. The first is the Hyper Strike special feature.
Land three or more Hyper Strike symbols simultaneously to win a cash prize. How much you win on each round is displayed on the horizontal meter left of the reels.
Three Hyper Strike symbols just grants a 1x prize. However, if you land nine symbols, you can win 2000x your total stake!
Free spins are awarded by getting three free spins bonus symbols on the middle three reels at the same time. This does not grant free spins immediately.
Instead, we are taken to a separate screen. Here, we find a huge and colourful lucky wheel.
Spin the wheel to unlock one of the free spins and win multiplier combos it offers. The best combination you can unlock is 30 free spins with a 3x multiplier.
Once free spins begin, it is possible to reactivate them. Land three free spins bonus icons during the special feature, and you retrigger the round.
This grants the same amount of free spins you won from the lucky wheel. If you won thirty free spins, you would double it to sixty! Sadly, the multiplier value does not increase.

RTP, bet sizes and volatility
The RTP for Hyper Strike is 96.24%. This slot is above average when compared to the current industry average, which is 96%. Not by much, but any extra advantage helps!
You can bet between $0.20 and $60 on each spin. This is a good spread of bets, which will please most casino members. High rollers may hope for bigger wins, but this is not their type of game.
If you are a high roller, you want high volatility and an absurd jackpot to chase. With a medium variance and a 2000x top payout, this release is not that.
Do not get us wrong. these are not bad numbers for casual play. However, if you want to hunt for one huge win, there are better games out there.
Verdict
For players who just want a fun time, this release delivers spectacularly. It has bonuses that are very easy to understand.
However, they can provide some incredible wins every so often. You will not be able to score its 2000x prize easily, mind you.
However, it is far less grindy than a high volatility slot might be. Hyper Strike has excellent visuals and great gameplay.
As such, we have given it 4 out of 5 stars. We hope to see more titles of this quality from Gameburger going forward!
